Eh?
oops. I was following on ESPN alerts and misread that Billy was still on, when he had been subbed. Dickhead.

Yep. He’s gone from world class winger to average fullback in two years.
Agreed. He hasn’t really made any of the breaks he’s there for.

An embarrassment of riches at wing forward these days. Not too long ago it was Robshaw, Wood and The Hask.

Marler absolutely mullered that first scrum causing his opposite TH to go off (turned ankle?).

The driving maul has clearly clearly been coached much much better than previously and is looking like a welcome return to one of our favourite weapons.

JJ getting back up to speed nicely.

Rokko is some handfull. Looks like a heavyweight boxer crossed with an Olympic sprinter. He is a sho in for me.

I must admit I quite enjoyed Faz getting a taste of his own medicine, but tough lad that he is - he got back up - very surprised he didn't get pulled for a HIA........must be flat cap and whippet which saved him, or maybe one of his pigeons has died?

But yes I think Marler is due some love. I feel he's under-appreciated because we still miss Mako, and he is comparatively so old-school. He's put in some monster hits in defence in as well as the scrum.

The Farrell thing did make me laugh. I do think it's worse (or at least more clear-cut) than any of Faz's hits though.

Bonus point win with no injuries.
I thought they still looked not quite in top gear but its coming together nicely.
Ben Youngs still makes me shout hurry up and pass higher at the telly.

Launch did drop a couple of balls but he was mostly getting man and ball at the same time most of the game. A couple of the drops were bad though.

Ok - well I said I only had my north eye on ITV Player - flipping back to classic meaningless spreadsheet and works outlook when I sensed somebody behind me.

Just beat me to it.

Daly's form is a significant worry - he got some prime counterattacking ball today, with loads of time to pick his line, and he looked hesitant and indecisive. I don't think he beat a single player with footwork or set up a counterattack at all. Given that's his whole purpose for selection, that's very disappointing.

While it is a risk given that he's not got masses of international experience there (and doesn't play there for his club*), I would pick Watson at 15 for Argentina, especially with Cokanasiga showing such promise.

Do we expect to be getting lots of front foot ball against Argentina

That's not his whole purpose for selection though. He did beat two defenders is memory serves and made some good decisions. The chip for JJ on half time was an absolute beauty.

Frankly, yes. Their pack is not what it once was.

He was excellent in the second half. Was quieter in the first half.

And I don’t see what front-foot ball has to do with it either to be honest.

Ford, Manu, JJ would absolutely absolutely thrive on front-foot ball…

But, if we're struggling in the breakdown, or the set-piece, and we're not creating go-forward - it doesn't give us many outs…

You can argue Farrell's kicking and distribution gives Ford an extra out, yeah, but that vs Joseph's superior defence ability to weave his way through traffic? Hmm.

The (likely) alternative is removing our fantastic fly-half and replacing him with Farrell, but not sure how that helps either.

Assuming he picks his first choice line-up for Argentina, Jones's backline will be Youngs, Ford, May, Farrell, Tuilagi, Watson, Daly.

His tight five will be Mako(if fit), George, Sinckler, Itoje, Kruis.

Will his back-row be Curry, Underhill and Billy or Wilson, Curry and Billy?

Then the bench will presumably be: Marler, LCD, Cole, Lawes, Underhill/Wilson, Heinz, JJ and Coka.

None of those units would be my choice apart from the back-row IF he picks Wilson, Curry and Billy.

Other than Manu closer in, where you'd need him if not on the front foot.
