There is a Yoo Toob vid somewhere of him taking a deposition some 6 years ago, and he is staggeringly thick when put on the spot. He can't articulate even simple concepts and is profoundly ignorant. US family go to be tourists to Israel, go visit one of the occupied areas for funsies and pick up an unexploded artillery shell as "a souvenir" which then shuts down the airport when they ask the staff whether they can check it in their suitcase. I don't even know where to start, from "Yaay, occupation and war, let's get a fun memento so we can remember all the death that took place here!" to "Why wouldn't I be able to have a bomb on a plane; I'm white" to "You know, that artillery shell would look great alongside my gun collection."

I've held back from commenting on both of these depressing insights into life in 'Murrica because it is a tediously depressing refrain. That guns are the leading cause of death in children and adolescents is a national disgrace and should be, by definition as per the fucking metric, a primary public health priority. But no, legislators are focused on the teaching of history in schools and getting angry about gay people. It's just fucking ridiculous and you can't call yourself a functioning democracy with a set of priorities so wildly, almost comically, off target (no pun). I don't know what can be done about it. It is an issue that will literally swing an election, especially after social media eats it up and shits it all over the public. Forget Critical Race Theory angry white people (which is not taught in any fucking school in the country BTW). Unclutch your pearls and get real about an actual problem. You cunts.

As for the cretins that thought a casual artillery shell through airport security would be OK...you shouldn't be allowed passports, driver's licenses, library cards, or the right to vote until you can display a requisite minimum understanding of contemporary geopolitical context outside of your cloistered domestic bubble, and empathy for others less privileged who are unable to carry artillery through a crowded international airport without risking summary public execution.

Surely there must have been a case referred to them? Texas seems to be trying to roll back north on rights but I don’t think they are the only state to be doing that. One report I read today mentioned up to 26 states that are looking to impose some sort of restriction.

There is a case referred to them that they're currently considering which is the challenge to Roe vs Wade. There's no shortage of Republican fuckwits willing to spend their time and money to make sure that others are deprived of rights, so the cases challenging them will keep coming.

The thing is that a majority of Americans are in favour of Roe vs Wade. It's because of their shitty electoral system that gives equal weight in the Senate to underpopulated red states like 580k Wyoming as it does to 39 million in blue California. What I'm terrified to see is if the same will occur with this as occurred with Brexit - instead of people moving away from the Republicans because they did the thing they disliked, deciding that they never cared about the thing anyway and lurching further right, because in for a penny, my team good or bad, right?

I mean, trans rights have already been eroded, as have been voter rights in red states and districts.
