If Toulouse beat connacht, no BPs for either then it's sarries. Think pretty much every other permutation is Munster unfortunately.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I feel that way every time I watch Glasgow play but the amount of opportunities they create (when on song) is insane. You can't be expected to convert all of them. Not even NZ do that.switchskier wrote:Game is available online if anyone fancies a thoroughly enjoyable 90 minutes. Great forward performance from Glasgow to dominate that game.
However, odd as it is to say it but I think they left quite a lot of points on the pitch. A couple of close efforts, drops and missed line outs and still they scored 6 tries.
Think sarries are probably a bad matchup for them but on that form anything is possible.
Isn't it more likely to be Munster?

Isn't Burns desperately scrambling for touch when in possession of the ball @ 80 mins the best thing you've seen in a while? Glasgow were ruthless and Leicester just wanted the misery to stop.

I hope it's not Munster , think they have the hoodoo over the weeg right now. Think sarries v Glasgow would be an awesome game and we would get itoje v gray as well as Farrell v Russell , mako v fagurson,

Wasps don't even need a BP win, do they?

Nope, to be fair to Wasps , they should have qualified by now, it was the same ref last night as the one that gave Connaught an extra line out.

Idiotic from Connacht, all they had to do is go through the phases. Really want to see another pro 12 team get through.

So it's Sarries.
Think they could shut down Glasgows attack but it's a bit different from another Munster game and that's what Europes all about.

Definitely going down to that one. Last year Sarries could have caused Weeg all kinds of problems but the pack should be comfortable fronting up to anyone now.ARM wrote:So it's Sarries.

I actually think Glasgow have more chance away at sarries then either Irish team.
Glasgow will take a vocal support, could be a close game but Sarries don't lose easy at home

Yep. Will be very interesting to see how the packs face off. The Sarries pack is very different without Kruis, Mako and Billy Vunipola. I'm not sure who will be fit at that point.
As ever, an enormous amount is going to depend on Russell. If he is on his game he is pretty damn good at beating a blitz. Equally can't have him wildly trying to chip everything and giving easy points away.
When is Fusaro expected back?

Good to hear, though just realised my Alba-esque blunder. The fact I wrote Fusaro when I meant Favaro may have added to the confusion.

Sarto is the one that's out for a while.

Absence of Sarto..
Looks as though (almost) every opposition restart in last two Glasgow games has been aimed at Jones..
He`s done pretty well, though. Always good if the other team are restarting the game..

The rugby paper has Mermoz signing for Newcastle for next season too. Could be they are looking to spend a bot more money next year.Cameo wrote: Bennet rumoured to be off to newcastle

Getting ahead of myself but according to Stuart Barnes the sixth seed gets a home semi if it gets through. That would be some occasion though dunno if theyd look to move it somewhere bigger?

Yup, we are guaranteed a semi in Scotland if we can sneak past Sarries.Cameo wrote:Getting ahead of myself but according to Stuart Barnes the sixth seed gets a home semi if it gets through. That would be some occasion though dunno if theyd look to move it somewhere bigger?
Doubt we could hold it at Scotstoun, unfortunately. Rugby Park or Murrayfield probably.

Re: The Glasgow Carpet Burns and Cary Grant Appreciation Thread
Think it has to be 18K
Edinburgh got 38K for their home 1/4 final so I reckon Glasgow could pick between Celtic park, Hampden, Rangers, Rugby Park or Murrayfield
If it does happen and its a big fecking if, then I think it would have to be Celtic or Rangers, no reason why Glasgow couldn't get 35K for the game, as it will be against Munster and I think a wider pitch would help more. Glasgow should host the semi final if Glasgow make it, playing at Kilmarnock or Edinburgh would be stupid, especially since Munster would come over in their droves for the game so it would be a great occasion
But its a big fucking if
