Seemed to have a good burst a season or so back then just stalled a bit? Could be a good signing, though it’s hard to say where Exeter are heading at the moment.

Yeah they are in a rebuilding phase. Missed out on the aussie sh. I don't think they can compete financially with the big boys.

Wild to see him signing up for another spell of being stuck behind Varney. I thought there was a really good player in Chapman when he had that burst, but he dropped out of Glaws first team and then just never seemed to make his way back in.

Would he even be ahead of Townsend?
Going from 3rd choice at Glos to 3rd choice at Exeter - maybe he's hoping "A change is as good as a break" - it's worked for plenty in the past

Coming back from Pau where he's been playing and starting fairly regularly. Feels like a weird signing - I haven't seen anything of him in France, but I can't imagine he's got good enough to be signed as Quins' first choice. However, if he's been playing as a starting tighthead at least semi-regularly in the Top 14, it feels like he might be expensive to be a backup.

Yeah I wasn’t too happy reading that, but couldn’t place why it was I remember thinking he seemed like a bit of a knob.
It’s very strange going back and looking at that Covid/lockdown discussion.
A decent prem level player on his day but can’t say I’ve seen him at all while in France. I just hope he’s got rid of that awful fucking beard, if not all the conspiracy theories.

He's in Pau's starting XV in this evening's match at home to Bath.

I saw him saying he's a South London boy originally and his dad used to take him to watch Quins. He's a big unit, I thought he'd kick on at some point but he never did. Should be a reliable back up.

Gabby Logan has let the cat out of the bag in a Telegraph article that Reuben Logan is off to Sale next season. Been disappointed not to see more/any of him in the Prem Rugby Cup this year for Saints.

Been known for weeks. He’s a top lad doing a good job for us recently.
He was loaned to Leicester Lions, when way better than that.

Leicester Lions have had a few age grade players on loan this season. Threlfall, Pearson, Myall, Satala and Bemand who've also played bits at Championship level as well.

Clearly someone there is either running a good program or good at talking clubs into releasing young talent for them to play. From the write ups I'd seen for Lions Logan wasn't being given the headlines.

Given their position it seems they talk a better game than they play if they have had that level of player in that league. Probably more like badly spent money. Logan has made quite an impact for us, in a struggling side. And a top lad, still young.
As an aside, for me, highlights again how poorly transitions of talent are handled at this age, so many examples of players in the wrong environment I can name this season alone. Criminal ish

It does tend to be whomever has space for them to get game time and then they bounce up and down the leagues depending on the club that is.

Worse than that I’m afraid, no one really cares about the welfare in its broadest definition of these young lads- it’s really poor.

As we’re discussing age grade players (and I think in allowed to post this), Sam Bland has signed for Quins.

Players are assets, got to find a way to maximise ROI if you're being cynical.
After the failed Gustard move Tigers are now looking to make an appointment from a three man shortlist. Rowntree is heavily rumoured to be on there and the migraine inducing rumour that Cockers is as well won't go away.
