I suspect this is a pretty good indicator of our general state of readiness for the forthcoming clusterfuck.
The magic glue is probably made in another eu member state. Anyone got Grayling’s number. I’m in the Uk, don’t have any glue or the expertise to make it so I figure I am in prime position to take on this essential post brexit role.

And it keeps getting worse, Nigel Lawson is returning home. He had claimed he was staying in France but gave that up because he didn't want to pay French taxes, and whilst he'd prefer to stay there he wasn't able to forsee brexit would make that a problem
Good news for France is perhaps the positive news to take from this

Well, when the prime minister does it, that means that it is not illegal
The conclusion - "It is crystal clear that the measures do not alter the fundamental legal effect of the backstop, as previously and correctly explained by the Attorney General. The backstop will endure indefinitely, unless and until superseded by another agreement, save in the extreme and unlikely event that in future negotiations the EU acts in bad faith in rejecting the UK’s demands"

So the May deal will be rejected. And she is probably out on her ear given the apparent threat of Tory Rebels to back a vote of no confidence.
Is there anyone who can negotiate a compromise that will has a vote in the Commons? Time for some grown ups to make themselves known.

Good point.
In a move that will surprise nobody, the ERG have decided that, as the deal hasn't changed one iota; nor has their position on it - urging it's members to vote against.
It really is All or Nothing for them!
ETA: Looks like DUP have said much the same - so no way on earth that this passes.
So the only question left, is will the motion be rejected, or will May decide not to have a vote after all, and run the clock down some more.

anyone know why they wouldn't ask the Attorney General for his opinion before spending weeks getting a new 'deal' signed, only for him to hole it below the waterline?
Irrelevent as ERG and DUP seemingly set on no-deal anyway.......that's where we are headed. Or a GE. Or both.

Just wahat we all need; a chance to kick the can down the road another 6 weeks, and fall out with no deal as we forgot to ask for an extension - or assumed they'd allow it without asking.

Nothing would surprise me. Not sure why they are even bothering with this debate- ERG and DUP seem determined to take us to no deal exit.

Not sure the MPs uniformly get three things
1- No deal needs legislation
2- The EU have to approve an extension
3- There is no transition without a WA
There's a scenario where we pass legislation to rule out no deal, and the EU don't agree an extension. Lol.

The EU aren't going to rule out some form of extension as practically they're not ready either
I wonder what convinced 100 or so MPs from the first vote?
