come off it kiwi, you guys would bite your hands off for a robotic 2nd 5/8th with average passing, no running threat, average intl kicking % and headless chicken defence....because he is a test match animal, and a world class leader of men.

Looking at NZ's midfield he probably would be picked by them.

It's a weirdly low entry requirement

I see Mark Wilson is on the bench for Sale tomorrow night. It’s a break week after the Scotland game so I think there’s a reasonable chance we might see him drafted back in to the squad.

I think we’d all be a lot happier with him at 8 than Curry and Eddie could save face by simply saying he wasn’t selected initially because he was still on his way back from injury.

By the by, Farrell has played NZ 3 times as a 12 and won 2 and drawn the other.

By himself?!?!? That’s quite some achievement.

Played SA 5 times as a 12 and won 2 lost 3. On the upside I believe that better than when he been a 10. So maybe Eddie is onto something

Surprisingly good in the set piece.
Hogg is always a potential match winner and will be up to atone for his missed try howler.
Price and Horne zippy SHs.
The Scots have a good back row, with the smallish but livewire Watson punching well above his weight. The BR battle could be key to the outcome. England were well outplayed in this dept by their French counterparts, and it was not just about controlling the ball at 8.
Scottish centres good in attack but less so in defence. England should be running hard at them but Faz is not the man to do it and the England loose forwards are not big carriers either.
Could be a tight game. Scots might just do it with home advantage
Don't be ridiculous. We are England. We have left the EU. We should win every game. Arrogant Celts.
What does this have to do with brexit?

Just re-watched in full England v Scotland 1990 Grand Slam final (for the first time since it took place).
Struck by how many opportunities England had to win that from close to the Scots tryline, how skillful was the passing from the likes of Hill, Carling, and Guscott and how resolute was the Scots defence to keep their lead. Will be interesting to contrast with whatever takes place in 2020 Calcutta Cup.

Two very good teams. Dean Richards plays, we win imo :)

Is this the first time in history someone that isn't Will Carling was struck by how skillful his passing was?

I'd settle for him at 12 with the captain's armband today ahead of Farrell.

Steve Diamond, on Mark Wilson's return to action & debut for Sale:

"He plays well tonight and he'll probably be starting fly half for England"

Diamond v Jones. Pot v kettle. Diamond is funnier, though.
