At a slight tangent, whilst Brian Moore’s commentary is irreplaceable - I think Joe Worsley is a very good commentator (based on Wales v France last night). He does have a voice very close to that of Michel Roux Junior - wonder if Lewis Moody’s going to sign up for ITV? :)

I thought the exact opposite. He was dreadful. Had a lot of things to say but didnt have a clue how to put them out in a concise, easily digestible format. Doubtless he'll get better with a bit more experience.

The game itself was a huge letdown. France started brightly, scored a great try and then seemed to lose interest in playing.

I expect a radically better performance next week at home going for a GS.

I definitely feel like Wales highlighted a few problems. To be honest they really should have won the game, they were just missing anyone who could run through the brick wall, and their clearing out was atrocious. Felt very sorry for Navidi who was keen as anything as a carrier but just got knocked back every time. Even Moriarty had no penetration, that defence is special.
Jaminet was well and truly riled though. While it doesn't make for much of a spectacle, England would be stupid not to test him a lot. Also, we can't rely on Aldritt and others making so many handling errors next week...

In the end, France were a bit lucky but top sides grind out wins even when not playing well. Wales got away with lineout steals that another ref might have pinged. I wonder if that was based on analysing Carley. If so, it was useful research. Ours seems not to be. We will need to be much better than Ireland in not conceding penalties to have a realustic chance of winning, I expect.

Wales were good, but they were massively assisted by France having a collective disaster as anything else. Repeated pointless offside and ill-discipline penalties, continual knock-ons, panicked playing the ball out when they just needed to slow it down. It's nice to know that they can get rattled, but why they couldn't have saved that performance for next week!

Yep, they pressured plenty of mistakes, but France made enough unforced errors they really should have been able to take advantage. I can’t see them playing that way again, and sure wish they had last time out vs Scotland.

I would imagine Eddie will already be planning the training sessions for putting bombs on top of Jaminet from anywhere more than 5 metres from the line.

France's defence is something else. Ah....Shaun Edwards....made a huge difference, and will have hair driered them over the unforced errors. We will have a pretty torrid time a Paris, je pense.

Yeah, if anything this will make the already unlikely win in Paris even more unlikely. Also makes today a hell of a lot more important.
I think it was odd that France didn't do their usual overloading around the breakdown in attack and seemed to be trying to get wide a lot quicker. Whether it was just a bad night, Wales disrupted it, or they were trying something out (unsuccessfully) for England...

Tu as raison! An interesting fact is that it was the first time in thirteen years that Wales have failed to score a try in Cardiff! France’s defence will surely be as tight as a « cul de canard » next Saturday night! Can’t wait!

When we said we didn’t want Ewels on the pitch this is not what we mean.
Also, what Galfon said.

When will we learn not to put a slow 15 on the wing. Inauspicious start from Steward - he doesn’t look fit.

The worst part of the red card is it gives Jones an excuse for defeat.

What are you on? I'm concerned about a record defeat to Ireland. Why harp on about Jones?

A red card but it’s still game ruined. Surely you can see that thinking the game is ruined does not equal disagreeing with the red card?!?!?
