You rate Ojomoh over Atkinson and Dingwall?

Yes - neither of the latter two remotely inspiring from what I’ve seen of them at test level - would like to see a 12 Pollock 13 Ojomoh (or even vice Versa) given a go!

Ambition and the vision. Vision of seeing Atkinson at test level. One up on the rest of us

Aye vision is the word I was looking for. I'd book in for an eye test, mind ;)

Little point - Atkinson has yet to be capped

Ojomoh is injured and given @jngf only watches test rugby , I strongly suspect he likes his name rather than knowing anything about him as a player.

As @Danni has already said, Seb Atkinson is currently uncappped, so I’m not totally sure how he failed to inspire in his mythical appearance?

Dingwall has done what he’s good at - chiefly tidy, fuss free play that helps to create space. An important but underrated skill set.

Not even touting his young lad at Leicester though?

Can't be too obvious about it, he's not Lancaster

I’m very much on the side of tapping into our ridiculous back row riches to try to resolve challenges at lock and centre.

Pollock could 100% offer an option to cover centre in a 6:2 split but I think using him at centre would limit his ability to just be everywhere. Wouldn’t be one I would be looking at.

I have to assume jngf has recalled dear old Mark’s less than impressive canter into the test arena.

Glaws centre for 10 years. Spent a few of those in ripping form but continued to get overlooked by England. I think Gloucester had the opportunity to field 3 Atkinson’s at 10,12 & 13 but denied us the experience

Thank you squire. I only get to watch a couple of games a week and Glos were rarely high on my list of priorities

The only one who has played in tests is Dingwall. Given thats all you used to watch, how can you express a view on the others unless you actually do watch the prem?

he did eventually get a cap, when past his best,...which was a good prem 12.

Is there anyone who has played backrow to the age of say 20 at top level who has successfully converted to centre intly? I cant think of any, ever. It seems that there is a mistrust of pace at 6,7,8 ...they are quick...ergo back.

Find it a tad odd. Even Christian Cullen couldnt do it, one of the great runners of all time..and an actual back.

Richie Vernon of Scotland actually had a pretty good whack at it, then couldn’t stay fit long enough. Played 13 in Vern Cotter’s Scotland run (to what should have been the semis) at RWC15.

Where did Botia start out?

Point taken though. The chat of shoving any fast backrow at centre feels a bit tired. We finally actually have a few prospects that regularly play there.

Good call on Vernon, I guess sevens helped a bit. But looks like an exception.

Cough. Barbeary. Cough.
Ah, but he has actually played there so that rules him out. As you were.

To be fair Atkinson has been utterly anonymous at test level!
