Just watching the glasgow game. Is Lee Jones now our fourth choice wing. He is looking better and better

Depends massively on the enigma that is Tim Visser.
Second half v Wales Tim Visser I'd probably have in 2nd place. First half v Wales Tim Visser would be behind anyone else with a cap.
I'm assuming your first three were Seymour, Maryland and lanky Tim?
I'd be more than happy to see Jones get another bash. He doesn't seem to make many mistakes, which when you have Russell, Hogg, Price, Jones in a backline could be enough to tie it all together.

He does little wrong but he doesn't have that X factor either. He's certainly a better defender than Visser which is what worries me the most about him TBH. Visser is a deadly finisher though. Jones doesn't have that raw pace and often gets caught before the try line when I expect most nippy wings would finish the chance.Cameo wrote:Just watching the glasgow game. Hard to say really. I personally wouldn't have either in the 23.

Who would be your backup then?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:He does little wrong but he doesn't have that X factor either. Not much between Visser/Jones for 3rd wing. I'd probably go Visser purely for his better finishing but not fussed either way.Cameo wrote:Who would be your backup then?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:He does little wrong but he doesn't have that X factor either. Like HW, I wouldn't have a specialist 3rd wing in the matchday 23. .

Backup winger? I'd probably go for Jones but I am aware that he isn't clinical enough to be at op international. Hopefully his defence and excellent link play - keeping the ball alive at pace would offset that.Cameo wrote:Who would be your backup then?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:He does little wrong but he doesn't have that X factor either. If you mean bench backups I'd go for a combination of Horne/Jackson and Taylor/Dunbar depending on who starts & form.

Okay, that makes sense although not really convinced Jackson has it in him to be an international back 3 option.
I also wouldn't want to shuffle Hogg to wing to fit him in at full back

Jackson is 10/15 cover in my mind.Cameo wrote:Okay, that makes sense although not really convinced Jackson has it in him to be an international back 3 option.

Jones & Taylor can offer wing cover. Which is why Dunbar/Taylor are bench options.
When was the last time we could effectively cover 10-15 with two players? The backs have come on a lot.

Strauss didn't look too shabby for Sale either. Carrying well.
Great to see Dell and Brown back in action in the last week or two. Worrying to hear Nel struggling.
