Not sure about that one. Having a couple of studs touch the grass when your torso is 20cm above ground level isn't going to do much to break your fall. By the letter of the law is suppose it's the correct call but it just goes to show that the 'outcome' defining the sanction is ridiculous.

Just as I drew the opposite conclusion from the 1st 20 mins last week.... :)
Baxter saying that he thinks one has directly influenced the other.
could well be that coaches are still figuring out their strategies, as per digby's point, and have hitherto been playing 'safe' as it were. My take is that even before the changes, the attacking side were still getting too much their way.

I'd also add, as Raggs pointed out, what sides are looking to do is even more double tackles followed by a counter ruck, so being even more selective as which rucks are resourced.

Youngs' slow decision making at the back of the ruck is really stifling Leicester.

Big d there. T Youngs' tackling in midfield has been excellent so far.

Bullshit was he never held.
Flat on the ground with an Exeter player wrapped around his ankles!

Ref having a pretty grim day both ways. Just waved on some pretty blatant crossing.

How many times a week do you think Ford suggests to Youngs that he stays 10 mins late after training for passing practice?

given that it takes about 10 minutes to get the pass away on average, not often!

I don't see how "no harm no foul" works there; the fact that he missed is why he's still on the pitch (well, that and a bad day for the ref)

There must've been a nudge in that Exe lineout in the 22.

Exeter support runnerm clearly taken off the ball there, stopping him going into the ruck.

The way the jumper suddenly shunted a couple of metres over in the air, you'd think so.
