He isn't English, and he is penalty happy. Also doesn't do enough outside the scrum. The more I write the more he seems to be ticking Eddie's boxes

Tuala is playing terribly

Wow, some idiotic play through the half topped by that ridiculous long lineout. Overall a definite improvement from Saints, at least we're being proactive in defence. Nice work from Ken Pisi a few times too.

Glous are getting a lot from this ref

Lovely try there. Great offload from Williams and Polledri looks well worth a serious look from Eddie.

What. A. Try.
First time I’ve seen Polledri play and I like what I see. I’m suprised Jones doesn’t.

That Glos penalty for Stephenson ‘entering from the side’ is so typical of the difference between Prem reffing of the breakdown and reffing everywhere else. That’s a Saints penalty for Glos holding on in every other competition in the world, including international rugby.

Agreed. Turning into a big game.
I have to say, Teimana Harrison impresses me almost every time I watch him.
He’s just gone off for an HIA but he’s been having a storming game.
We all know he’s a bit sub-par at test level, but as a Premiership back rower, he’s very good.

Agree, Harrison is very good and always punches above his weight.
Tuala has made so many stupid errors today.

Brookes just cannot scrum. Flops every time.

What a finish here. Odds on Saints fuck the lineout

Double movement, for me.

Well it was a penalty try so the double movement becomes irrelevant.
This is a novel feeling for a Saints fan, a win in the premiership!

It is, but I posted before pen try was given. Having said that, I’m not sure it was a pen try, either.

Good for drama and entertainment. Can’t say I’m convinced that was the right result.
Ackermann will be cursing bringing Twelvetrees on. That spell of play leading up to the crucial lineout started with his terrible pass when they were trying to play out of the 22 in such a tight game.

Amazing what some energy, desire allied with workrate will achieve. Saints made loads of errors but never stopped working. They may have got a bit lucky with the pen try but sometimes a bit of luck is what you need to turn things around.
Wasnt overly impressed with Glaws, who made a mess of the winning position they got into.

Never a try at the end that, 36 was our downfall again, if he stays off glos win that game. Ref was even enough, for that pen he arguably gave to glos when there was holding on there were equally as many saints offsides not given. Dodgiest decision gives saints the win. Not sure glos deserved the win but it's annoying to blow that situation. Changing our hooker made all the difference too. Interesting selections now for Ackerman next week I think.

He's probably not seen him much, if at all

I really liked Vellacott in his shortish stint. A SH who does everything as quickly and accurately as possible? How refreshingly unusual.

That’s a point, but doesn’t mean Jones doesn’t like Polledri- it’s a fair old leap to say he doesn’t like the look of him.

Agreed, it’s what I thought when I first saw him a while ago
