Either Hill or Brookes would be very welcome additions to Wasps.

I think Loz needs to move too. He's never going to be first choice at Sarries at 10, and as long as Barritt is playing he wont play 12 either.

I wonder how few forwards in the AP haven't been involved in punch ups in training. You'd almost be astonished if they didn't happen, even at successful sides

I thought punch-ups were considered standard practice in training for most teams, and actively encouraged at Tigers.

Do we assume that things got out of hand, or he provided an excuse to terminate his contract early?

From what I've read, it wasn't just a flare-up and a few random swings in training, but a significant argument which has left them unwilling to play together.

RugbyInsideLine did suggest Brookes was being courted by Wasps, but I wonder if that wasn't a case of chinese whispers, as I know that I, along with others, have suggested he could be a decent signing for us. Equally, it could be true, and Dai Young thinks he could be a good signing for us too, Dai seems happy enough for a prop to be prop shaped, as long as they do some work.

I would think that Trinder may perhaps look elsewhere, Glaws seem to be looking towards size more often than not. If Daly is moving to wing, then Wasps may fancy a sniff, I'm sure we've got a few guys he'd have known through age grade etc, and I believe Thomas Young and Trinder were great mates.

Be a bit ungrateful of Trinder tbh, given the medical biils; plus he has been starting when fully fit.

Trinder signed a new contract about 2 weeks ago.

Good for Trinder! I know Ackers has used him, but he's been shifted to the wing I believe at times.

One mentioned in a match thread, what about Devoto? Doubt he's really in line for England any more, but the Exeter move has worked out more or less like most expected it to I think, too many centres, not enough shirts. Wish he'd come to Wasps.

If anything this season has been a vindication for Exeter having a load of quality centres, with Devoto and Campagnaro injured for pretty much the entire season so far.

Possibly. The injuries to Devoto and Campagnaro have been unfortunate, but I still think they are overstocked.

Devoto and Slade with the less flashy Hill and Whitten as their understudies is a better balance. Campagnaro is more than good enough to start elsewhere. I’d love him at Quins. He’d suit us down to the ground IMO.

Bit of a waste of cap, though, with Marchant and Ibitoye coming through... I'd much rather we were sniffing around LI when they go down. Would love Johnny Williams and Cokasaniga at Quins, they would really fill a couple of gaps in our backs, especially if Sloan never gets back up to speed again

From Quins, perhaps Joe Gray could do with moving on. I know much of the problem is injuries, but often a change of scenery can help there. And with Buchanan and Elia around, he's not going to be 1st choice again. I reckon a move to France would be very good for him.

Without being harsh, I don’t imagine Gray is an attractive signing. He’s still reasonably young and would be cheap but he’s never come close to fulfilling his early potential and his injury record makes him a risk.

Then again, Oyonnax took Hopper off our hands so who knows???

Marchant is clearly our best option at 13 but I see Ibitoye as a winger at senior level. Saili should also be in the conversation but signing has been a non-event so far and I saw a rumour about him signing for Pau which would be a kick in the teeth. Alofa has stepped up a level in the last few games which is great to see, but I don’t see him as being more than a decent squad player. Hence why I’d like Campagnaro.

I do like the idea of Johnny Williams though. He could be a good long term replacement for Roberts.

He picked up an injury a couple of weeks after he joined, in training I believe, and when he came back he was blocked from the Quins game as part of the transfer agreement. I’ll be very surprised if he does start this weekend against Lyon

Whitten has been the reliable backbone of the Exeter threequarter line for a few seasons now. A much underrated player with an all-round game, who does everything well, never has a bad game and still shows a bit of surprising footwork/pace.

Hill looked like a possible England candidate about three seasons ago then had bad luck with injuries. He has been showing good form this year. If England decide to go the route of a powerful, straight-running, hard-tackling 12, which might still be the best option outside Ford, he may be worth another look. He probably compares favourably with Te'o in this respect. It's probably all academic since Jones is not about to shift Farrell.
