It needs that touch of PI/NZ/Aus flair to make it interesting.

Lawday is supposed to be a good player, although more a 15’s player. Will do well for Chiefs this season.

Dipped in and out last night. Some good bits and some teams obviously better prepared than others.
Odogwu looked good for Sale, as did Wilkinson. Sirker looked seriously quick for Wasps. Good stuff from Radwan and Kibrige for Falcons.

Good to see Nick Wood’s svelte twin doing some reffing.

I’m not saying the reason Sarries won is because a large chunk of their team went through the Goldington Road Finishing School but it probably is.

I didn’t see the games but Callum Waters has generally looked decent when he’s had the odd (minimal) opportunity for Quins.
Hopefully his ‘player of the tournament’ winning performance give him a shot of seeing some game time this season. Surely he’s worth investing in ahead of the likes of Lewis? Mulchrone is fairly decent but if we have a high potential youngster, let’s give him a shot. It worked out well enough for Exeter with Maunder and Townsend.

From what i saw Waters looked very sharp. Difficult to assess whether his basics are up to scratch, but he certainly has an eye for a gap and the pace to exploit it.
