It looks a lot like someone had a heavy night on the Midori and then puked in the kit bag.

I also kept thinking saints were wasps at the beginning of the game.

I'm sure that Reinach try was a try, you could see the ball on the line quite clearly

Quins have been pants, mainly.

Saints got away with that Gibson had his hands all over the floor before his second push.

Yep. Hands in well after the ruck was formed.

All told, I’ll take a losing BP after a crappy performance like that.

BTW, Symonds is not looking like the player I hoped he'd be :(

Early days yet so I’m reserving judgement. The whole team was pretty poor last night.

White shouldn’t be anywhere near starting as that performance showed. Bothma was so much better when he came on it was like night and day. Hopefully Wallace’s injury isn’t serious and Kunatani will be ready to play soon.

Bit flat all round i thought. Neither side looked crash hot, with mistakes regularly interrupting any kind of flow to the game.
Saints marginally more purposeful and having the benefit of 2 excellent locks.
One thing struck me about Quins was the absolutely dire quality of their offensive breakdown work. They will have to clear rucks far better than that if they are to improve.

Yep. That was a bit of a reality check for Quins after last weekends result.
Two games in and you can see Boyd’s influence already. I think there will need to be a change of personnel in the backs to play the new plan with some success. One of those changes might not be possible with their new, shiny and expensive flyhalf.
I thought the game peaked at Collins’ run and Smith’s cover tackle. That that happened in first 10 mins says a lot.

We still have Kellaway and Naiyaravoro to come in the backs, which I think will help. I think this 9, 10, 12 combination could be very useful given some time together.

Reality check? I’m not sure anyone was getting carried away.

I had some confidence we could get a result against a Saints side I’d see as mid-table rivals, but I certainly wasn’t expecting a win.

Naiyaravoro was quite rusty still in the A game, apparently dropped quite a few simple ones.

Unpopular as he may be, I thought Mallinder was good when he came on too.
