Kinghorn playing incredibly well behind 14 Scottish retards at the moment.

As a standing preference or simply based on this tournament? Simply on the games this year it doesn't remotely look a close call imo
Which way were you saying this. Until yesterday thought Farrell had been decent this tournament but Russell had had two of his best games for Scotland. A little restrained but crisp passing, good decision making and great kicking from hand both defensive and offensive.

Yeah, someone will definitely spit in his gnocchi tonight.

Italy so close to being the one team in the 6N that can actually play off flat attacking ball. They have some serious pace and step in the backline but the forwards tend to just take over proceedings and close up shop for a few phases until someone gives away a penalty. I think they are probably better off without Parissee trying to de absolutely everything on his own. I'm loving the halfback, but someone should remind him he has 9 not 7 on his back.

Ireland pretty messy still. So many upside down frowns and flapping arms. They look a bit old and staid tbh.

Parisse's time pasta a while ago imo.

Italy are unfortunately 5 or 6 players light in intl terms. Campagnaro continues to look classy at intl level.

I'm struggling to think of another 6N, and admittedly it's early doors, where so many players in a combined 6N side would come from one country, we're not even getting the likes of Guirado make their normal claim despite their own team's form
I've flipped from an early position of wanting a near blanket selection of English players to having no idea who I'd pick in a number of roles.

?
George
Sinckler
Kruis
?
Wilson
Curry
Navidi
?
?
May
Parkes
Tuilagi
Stockdale
Williams

Adams very close to making it into the side.

One other thought given the play has not been great is a Jamboree squad would probably be getting picked on reputation as the performances just aren't there

I'd pick Adams over Stockdale. Earls would be close.

The England team with Schmidt as coach.

Possibly not Brunel or Townsend

Based on this 6N I'd want O'Shea, all the southern hemisphere coaches are to my way of thinking horribly risk averse on attack, and all delivering far less than the sum of the parts

There’s a part of me that would actually enjoy watching Youngs/Farrell/Te’o/Manu attempt Scotland’s approach of trying to pass it at least a dozen times before anyone even gets near the opposition, playing more and more expansive rugby the closer you get to your own try line.

It would be at least be interesting to see how far they could push it before a pundit considered criticising Faz.

And let's be honest, what's the point in Kiwis?

While we're on that subject, can anyone tell me what the hell is going on with the way Hadleigh Parkes talks? He's a Kiwi, right? Has he got a particularly weird accent? Has he taken too many knocks to the head or simply gone a bit Welsh?

I dunno but his name sounds like a train station.

Honestly, from what I've seen I would happily pick England players from 1-8 and 11-15, no problem. There would be contentious calls there, but the team would perform.

And it's very different picking a "team of the 6N" and the best team you could put together from the 6N teams. As Itoje could hardly lay claim to a spot in the team of the tournament, but I'd have him in the best team alongside Ryan, probably.

As ever, though, picking a 9 is extremely difficult. Murray has not been so amazing this tournament, Davies has been OK, the rest have been poor. At 10...I mean, you probably pick Sexton still, but there's not much in the way of high quality competition, they've all been pretty poor at parts.

No inside centre has set the world alight, of the OCs, well Ringrose is the only one who's stood out (excluding games against Italy). On the wing, May has been superb. Stockdale has been good (though I still think he's someone who can be shut down), Adams deserves a spot in the team of the tournament, but if I were picking best XV? Nah.

And FB. Well, it's kind of by default that it's Liam Williams.

I was a little surprised to see Ringrose get a shout as he's seemingly a mix of peripheral and error prone, added to which I'm cross the Irish tactics seek to get so little from such a talented player, which got me wondering who'd be in my worst XV this tournament?

Moon
Guirado
Antonio
Beard
Willemse
Shields
O'Brien
Parisse
Parra
Farrell
Huget
Morisi
Ringrose
Esposito
Henshaw

Some harsh calls there, some lazy ones too, and a mix of reasons. 9 was especially competitive but Parra against England was by far the standout, and Farrell gets on on the strength of one game too, same for Henshaw at 15.

Beard has been very good when he's played so far, even for just his rolling maul defence. If you want a Welsh player in there, then Anscombe would probably challenging Farrell for the 10 spot or G Davies at 9.
