But not like Baxter has worked wonders on Simmonds either.
he only made his full debut 11 months ago, but a shame he hasnt forced his way past Steenson
Maybe but he is still older than Malins
about 2 1/2 weeks, but yes

Look at Loz, it worked out for him in the Long run.
I just don't see going to Exeter as being a positive step for him.
Baxter seems to set on Steenson as Steenson knows what Baxter wants

I'm not really bothered either way tbh, I can see if Malins were to get starts in the big games (and Steenson is 34 nearly 35) it would be a good thing as he wont get them at sarries unless Faz is crocked. He's not even starting today; as for Loz, I think he'd be further on had he been able to nail a position down.

That's why I was a bit dubious when I heard the rumour- I like the look of Simmonds at 10.
He's certainly got talent, but it's tricky, his decision making isn't as good as that shown by Steenson, against which it can't improve without games
I hope Simmonds ends up doing more than being the next Freddie Burns, and I do wonder at what point he needs to move when Exeter are so specific about their attack

Burns has been something of a wasted talent, relatively.

I'm left baffled as to why Murphy's been given a long-term contract. Granted, the players available are hardly a vintage team, but we look structureless in both attack and defence. No-one seems sure what the player inside him is doing - epitomised by our wonderful attacking move earlier of passing the ball back three times, losing 20m until finally Dan Cole got it standing still in midfield and got absolutely thumped a long way behind the rest of the pack.

The players are rubbish in general.
Especially in the forwards.
Once you scratch past the starting team.
Hard to build a structure around a team that provides so little physicality or dynamism.
Genge, Spencer and Thompson are desperately missed up front.
I think Murphy needs a chance to build a squad that is at least half of what he wants. Taufua is a good start, and I think Green and Taute are better depth options than Kitchener and Owen.

They always look for contact rather than space. Eastmond is trying very hard to create...but...apparently all his fault

How much longer til it isn;t a dross squad of his own making?

Well I think at least 1 preseason is the minimum.....

I was genuinely asking, I've lost track as to how long he has been in charge, as I know he has been there a long time......

There you go- Eastmond attacks well, support runner hits space, job done. Now beating Sarries at home

It’s hard with Murphy been here a while.
He literally did no coaching under MOC other than high ball stuff with the full backs and the A league shags.
MOC viewed himself as a guy who can coach everything.
Why Tigers didn’t sack him end of last season like they wanted too I will never know.

Yeh.
Got to be one of the luckiest half from Tigers POV.
One on one tackling improved but we have the power of a daisy in contact.

A *very* good move for England then. He'll thrive there.
I'm beginning to think that Baxter has a bit of an emperor's new clothes.
Has anyone really thrived under him? He gets the best out of limited players, but doesn't seem to really get the best out of more talented players, who often seem to be playing out of position.
Had Nowell spent a few years at FB or OC I think he'd be sewn into an England starting shirt for the last few years, rather than looking like a place holder on the wing.
Had Slade been trusted to play IC, then we wouldn't have been debating Farrell or Te'o there for England, and I'm pretty sure he'd have made the transition to international rugby easier.
How did Campagnaro go under Baxter? People keep questioning Devoto now (though I still think that's more down to I jury than wasted talent)
Sam Simmonds and Kvesic should be OSFs etc.
I'm just not sure he fully trusts talent, even though he gets absolutely the very best out of the prosaic.

A player who should’ve moved from Sarries is Spencer.

for sure. But lots of players get stuck behind the known AP quantities.

True.
Just a shame it’s a position England is lacking currently.

Tigers utterly folded in the last 20 mins, perhaps reflective of bench quality

Once we went 8 points down we tried to chase it and honestly we don’t have the squad to chase it.

Last quarter was very poor from Tigers. Shame after playing pretty well for 50 minutes. Holmes try was a gem.

I think the current Leicester forwards are the worst in the professional era. Whoever assembled the group needs shafting.
