The two plus-points, in terms of try-scoring effectiveness, are that Slade's handling is too good for him not to be a starter and that Launchbury's work in the maul should give him a second row shirt. Where I have to choke on some bias is in accepting how good the attacking contributions were occasionally from Youngs at SH and Daly at FB.
Even your chokes are a little out of whack: Daly's issues are in defence; and the coaches entirely forgot about Youngs for the whole of 2019, whereupon he started to remember how he likes to play rugby
Yes, Banquo has already lectured me on Daly's attacking prowess from FB so I swallow that quite easily. Youngs, though, it seemed to me, actually contributed far more to try-scoring than my memory allowed. What I now wonder in hindsight is how often that came about when he missed out Farrell and even, on some occasions, Ford. Maybe, all the stuttering from 9 - 12 is down to how the team is coached or is it purely down to either Youngs or Ford running the show rather than Farrell. It's all the same old conjecture but I just fancied some hindsight assessment - without reaching any conclusions.
