Shields kills a 3 on 2 there by trying to beat two men rather than just passing it

He's certainly out playing Ludlam so far

Willis is the best player on the pitch

Reckless use of the boot?
By running?

Malikai Fekitoa must be the best man for facials in the whole premiership?

You can't call a child Mason Heyman. Surely?

Clever read from Launchbury there, he knew it was going really long and put the pressure on it.

How on earth is that first drive over short?

EDIT - Held up though.

Quality from wasps.

Wasps looking very good. Solid set piece, improved defence, ability to score from set plays and from turnovers. They are a very watchable side. Liking Umaga's development and Willis continues to impress.
Saints have a fair bit of quality but its not quite clicking. They are an attractive side but do give up easy yards and points. Mitchell was OK. He maybe tried a touch too hard at times. He just needs to play every week.

When I saw the lineups I thought the Wasps team looked much stronger on paper, but I had little to no confidence in Wasps being able to deliver on that. How good Wasps were vs Saints just not being at the races I don't know, but Wasps finally look like they might progress somewhere

Yep. Plenty of good stuff but just tried to force it a few times when it wasn’t really on and gave a couple of bad passes. 6.5/10 IMO.

Funny running style to kick backwards rather than move a foot forwards

So, he was there. The evidence is stacking up but did he notice? Will he pick Willis?

I can't decide whether that's a misstep or he's trying to stamp on Launchbury's fingers so he lets go of his foot. He doesn't look back so it's not like he's aiming for Launchbury. Could be seen as reckless could be seen as nothing. Will all depend on the citing officer and the panel as there is never any consistency.

Wasps look much improved on how they were latterly playing under Dai. Some lovely intelligent touches from Umaga, he's defo growing as a player. Launch proving that whatever else he's been doing during lockdown he still wasn't practicing receiving kick-offs. Wasps defence (MIA for many years) is finally happening seemingly. Willis was just ridiculous, although the BT jizzfest was a bit embarrassing.

It's interesting that Usage played such a big part in this game versus the Worcester home game with the short turnaround. Sign of increased confidence?

I assume you mean Umaga?

He's been our first choice for some time now. Worcester turnaround is harsh, but I suspect more eyes will be on the match following that (can't remember who it is, but top 4 contender).

I'm a Wasps fan too, chief

I just mean that the confidence Blackett had in playing our first choice 10 in an away game where few fans expected us to win, versus saving him for a game we should be expected to win at home

Ah, sorry, misunderstood. I think better off using Umaga in a potential top 4 playoff, that we weren't that far off at seasons end, than facing worcester.

Worcester looked pretty good though, considering 14 men.

Worcester are always a bit of a bogey team for Wasps, who often struggle to match their niggle and physicality even if on paper they have what are believed to be more skilful players.
