I was thinking the same thing watching the game. With Manu broken again, and our strength in the back row, he might be better off looking at going back into the centres if he wants England game time soon.
Assuming he's not in the rush a lot of observers are, I'm sure he'll realistically be looking to be a challenger for 3rd hooker slot at the next rev, with a view to seriously contesting the shirt once George and LCD start feeling the years post then. (Assuming we're not living in mad max / waterworld by that point)
