Him and Paul Hill should be occupying the 3 and 18 shirt for england soon enough. The best carrying prop we have as well as averages over 10 tackles a game. Not a penalty machine like Cole and I rate his scrummaging higher.
I'm a fan too. Should be in Oz in June.

Some of the players who' have caught my eye so far -

Newcastle - Robinson and Wilson
Worcester - Schonert
London Irish - Williams and Symons
Gloucester - Kvesic
Bath - Roko. Ewels as best newcomer
Sale - Cips, Taylor and James
Quins - Yarde
Saints - Harrison

For me McCaffrey been so consistent this season and added benefit of letting me be very smug this season.

TBF it is the first time I can remember where pretty much every new signing has been brilliant
Veainu
Betham
Fitzgerald
Barrow

All could be picked

And Williams and O'Connor could also have been up there if it wasn't for injuries.

My list would be
Player of the season - McCaffrey
New player of the season - Veainu/Betham
Young player of the season - Barrow/Thacker
Most improved player of the season - Burns

Cause we've got Pietersen coming in as well, with Betham likely to feature more on the wing as Toomua takes space in the centres. Plus Goneva isn't the player he was a couple of years ago and has an annoying tendency to step in unnecessarily in defence and leave the wide man undefended. Veainu and Pietersen are upgrades.

Fair enough on JP who is younger than I thought- I'm not sure Toomua is a better centre than the rapidly improved Betham (and an utterly different player)...so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

He's a good prop who has been a key player for Wuss this season. He gets penalised as all props do, sometimes quite incorrectly.

My first pick as well, weirdly as I no great fan, the hask's has been a half decent 'club' player this year IMO... who'd have thought that :?

Done what he was there to do at least

Isn't he the most penalised player so far this season? If he isn't then he's very near the top.

That I don't know, I do know I've watched him give up easy pens that haven't helped his team. Close calls in the scrum is one thing, and we all understand sometimes being cynical helps a team, but he's just a bit of a loon it would seem

That's not unfair. Fitzgerald has put in a hell of a shift.

You'll have a seriously good back-line next year with these guys!

9 Youngs 10 Williams
11 Betham 12 Toomua 13 Tuilagi 14 Pieterson
15 Vianu

Lol. 1 English player and he's absolutely terrible. Poor Burns/Tait.

Christ, not you as well as Diggers - Manu's a very good player! And there's no need to disavow Ben Youngs entirely.

Personally, I'd have Burns over Williams every day of the week and Tait will surely play his share of matches. Still, it's a hell of a nicer selection choice than we've had of late in the backs. Hopefully the revamped academy will start pumping out some home grown starlets again and we won't need to lean as heavily on imports.

Ha, oops. I did miss Manu, I'm not sure if that meaningful or not.

And yes, that's a good bunch to choose from, though I hate JPP, will Toomua really walk straight in?

As you say, Burns at 10, though Toomua may well have a dig there, given that Manu will probably be still at 12 at England's request and I think Betham looks the part at 13. Also likely that Tait will feature at 15 and Veainu on the wing often as you also say.

Other than Williams I'd not be too fussed about that lineup, especially as they've other quality England players who'd come in and out of the team.

Sorry - I meant to reference Oakboy and his Manu-hate and for some reason put your name down. I blame the early-onset senility myself.

Hey! I'm only 31!

Or was it 32? Or 64? Or maybe 17? I don't remember. Anyway, lovely speaking to you Daisy and we must talk again soon.
