Warminster 2nds had a bad day at the office. Although, fair play to them, they put a side out (not always guaranteed at the moment), they kept playing even through what must've been a fairly unfun game (I've been on the other end of such a game before - don't recommend), and they didn't get shitty or nasty even in trying circumstances. Not their fault they were up against a bullocking hooker in the very peak of form - no defence could've stood up to that level of quality.

Did the bullocking hooker slip off a tackle to see the Warminster 10 land the try of the game?
It's sweet that you think I might catch a 10 in the shape I'm currently in. Thank you.

No, our backs got over enthused and threw an interception. Actually, they threw four (all to the opposition outside centre, for some reason), but they only managed to get to the line once - it was a very muddy pitch.

Gone done like that in my first game at Melksham (few years back now). Turned up and was told I was captaining the 4s (only time we've ever had a 4th team) away to Salisbury. Left with 12 players, 8 arrived - none with any game time in the previous 10 years. Salisbury ref comes over and says "this side is the scratch team, but we have spare so can lend you some." Their side then runs out and it's all 20 something year old squaddies.... Ref (their man) stopped it as it ticked over 90.... Worst 60 minutes I've ever played in.

Hah I had a game like that coming back from injury. A friend convinced me that his social side were playing at a club's Easter Saturday game day and it would be a good laugh, I'd play 15 and get a good run out as my team didn't have a game. We'd be playing a social side apparently.

Got there and told we were playing a mix of their first and colts. Their only firsts interested in playing were the ones under 25. We got mullered. Their first team being several leagues above the one I normally played in which was several leagues above the one I was turning out for. Chasing around at 15 to stop the breaks every other phase when coming back from a knee injury, my mate still owes me apology beers for that one.

Ugh - I've had that one as well. A uni close to me has a "social side" and they're an absolute pain. They claim to be non-training and just in it for a beer, but they're all 19-20 years old, skinny, fast, and fit, and they'll just run circles around you. Plus they never have a front row, so you can't even punish them in the one area where they can't run away.

At least on our side, we didn't do that to Warminster (although gods only know what the score would've been if we had). It was a genuine 3rds XV and, while we do have some youngsters who are fit and have some talent, there was also a fair sprinkling of fat and unfit people like me.

4 week ban for Siva - think he's got off lightly there, was expecting at least 6 weeks.

Yep, I'm surprised he got any mitigation, given that it was his first match back after a very similar offence
