Clumsy error. All that effort blown.

Ben Kay thinks so.

Smith just had the throw the miss pass.

Ah the Smith hitchkick kills it there with Huw Jones overrunning the move. If he'd gone wide straight away it was a walk in.

Very surprised that wasn't reviewed.

I reckon most of us would have had a chance at that one.

How obviously from the side does the ref need a clear out to be?

I know we can’t have two legs again but it’s been fun.

The last 15 minutes Quinns were in desperate need of a cool head to grab hold of the game and stop them tm treating everything as if it was the last throw of the dice.

How off their feet as well. The rucks at the end were like the wild west, anything goes stuff. That last Dombrandt penalty probably should have gone the other way but the ruck before was Montpellier side entry on a Quins player not supporting his weight. Take a pick for you penalties really.
The decision for one last play in the first leg that led to the last penalty looks an even worse decision now than it did last week. More leadership required.
I'm loving the two leg games this year. Enthralling.

A massive shame for quins, that was thoroughly enjoyable as a game though.

Thrilling stuff. Yes, the final 15 minutes were frantic with a whole lot going on and yes, Quins should have displayed a touch more composure but they were a kick away from a tremendous comeback win.

Just watched it back - it's a definite yellow (and there should've been one earlier for the 9 kicking the ball out of an advancing scrum or for being offside from Care's tap penalty, or for their continued refusal to scrum even after the yellow which Adamson didn't even penalise, etc), but it's not quite a penalty try, as Ouedrogo was coming across and you couldn't say for certain that the try would've been scored.

Feel like Evans going off was a big turning point. Really hope he’s ok. Looked like he was taken out pretty cynically by a Montpellier player, but not seen a replay.

There's loads of noise about Smith missing the conversion but after that Care box-kicked the ball back to Montpelier. Why?

To give Quins a better chance to run their ‘at the death’ lineout move

Evans was incredible in that first 40. Quins really should’ve made the best of being camped on the Montpellier line with those scrums. They messed it up themselves, how many scrums did they lose control of the ball at without even managing an attack…

Mind, the Montpellier 9 just kicked the ball out of the scrum almost every time the advantage was called. Should've had a yellow the first time he did it, as the scrum was likely going over the line, but the fact that the ref didn't even notice just emboldened him to keep sticking his foot in.

I saw that too and it really pissed me off. All and any of a defending 9’s antics around the scrum pisses me off but this might be the worst of the lot.

I remain in favour of the law variation trialled in the MLR last year where scrum-halves have to wait at the back foot of their scrum. Would incentivise playing the ball away from the base rather than playing for penalties and would avoid these kind of shenanigans.
