I winced, it was a full on swing of the leg. Would have been nasty if it connected.

Jordan has a unnerving ability to find space.

Talking of unnerving, McKenzies manic little smile during his kicking routine has serial killer vibes

Made easier by those inside him holding their lines and not taking his space. Draw and pass.

A convincing display by the backs. Adequate by the forwards. A few star performances - both wings and McKenzie - but no reason to change the preferred starting XV for the QF.

Fair play to Uruguay, after the Italian massacre last time the expectation was there for a record hiding. But, they have fought hard all through this RWC and whilst that wasn't close, they did disrupt a lot and I loved the attempt to run the ball back from their 22 in the 80th minute.

I was glad that the first 20 mins was at least a bit tough. They had to work hard and do some basics for a bit. Glad to see they managed.

I still wonder slightly about what may have happened had they have been playing a team who didn’t drop the ball every time they came within sight of our line.

Uruguay were giving away 62Kg in the scrum to the All Blacks, and it showed.

Like a Huntaway in the litter that never really connects with the pack to control the mob.

Convincing - maybe. But it was against little Uruguay, no matter how plucky, in yet another meaningless and boring miss match. A no-contest training romp for the ABs. I'm all for advancing the standard of these second (or third) tier nations, but one sided hammerings every four years in the World Cup are not the way to do it.

I have liked Uruguay. Their skills hold up under pressure better than many teams. I am slightly coming round to a smaller 16 team world cup (though not sure and that's for another thread) but would be a shame to lose them.

Anyway, for the All Blacks, I know there has been a lot of talk about Jordan at 15 and I would prefer that, but is there any chance they are secretly considering starting MacKenzie there. He is more like for like with Barrett and is just better at the moment.

Would seem a waste of years of bedding in the axis, but BB is just not what he was.

BB has not been his best this WC but still the best option tactically in defense. Back three should be Telea, Beaudy and Jordan with D-Mac on the bench IMO.
