Getting to this final was a massive achievement for GS, yet again given the performance of his team leading up to the finals - poor showings in most of the 12 games previous, and the below par showings by some of his stellars..even here it was only 30 mins. v Serbia, & half the Net game they looked in real control.
Kane & Bellingham faded significantly towards season end and were getting rested or subd. by their clubs, and had injuries.
Others like Rice, Foden.and Saka showed that by being surrounded by class players every game at club level makes it easier to look great.
8 goals in 7, just 2 wins is not champ-worthiness tbf.
There was a sniff however when Cole P equalised - but GS didn't go for it tactically or with fresh legs. He is not risk taker - winning managers like Pep & Carlo mix things up far more readilly.
It looks like the FA want him for the next WC, so hopefully they can learn from this and move on to another level.

Well he's gone now. Probs best, imo, he's been good for England but it seems clear to me at least that he's got a ceiling. Best of luck to him.
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

He’s been better than good, transformational in culture terms, possibly needed a tactically astute no 2 though.

Hope those twats who threw beer at him are happy.

Astute as ever, he's probably not enjoying the job much now and will only become harder due to all the unrealistic expectations.
Jurgen would be great, Thomas T. ok, but Howe and Potter are getting mentioned alot - the latter has been turning down jobs recently...If he changed his name to 'Harry' , we may have a chance.

Agreed on all counts.

Who is his no2? Whoever it is will probably go on to make Ireland almost unbeatable.
