USA currently have 4 points, so provided they don't get a losing bonus point, NZ are through. Now in that scenario, would Fiji play NZ in the quarters? Would it be worth their while to make sure they don't win by more than 3? Too risky perhaps.

They've already got the losing bonus point - you get that for walking onto the pitch.
1 point for a loss, 2 for a draw, 3 for a win
