Per the times, Saracens have agreed to a mid-season audit.

Reading that Exeter and others have said that Wray and fellow senior management are not welcome at away matches, one wonders how players and coaches feel about their Saracens' counterparts. Can Farrell and co having extra income from business partnerships leave them totally innocent, for example?

Rowe would do well to STFU i reckon.
Saracens have been rumbled and have copped a large fine along with a points deduction that will leave them struggling to stay up.
I think the penalty is just.
Shunning their representatives at away games is just petty.

That's the club. The owners had an agreement 4 years ago to no longer muck around with the cap and stick to it. It's the reason they agreed to not go public apparently. That's a matter of individual trust between rather rich/powerful men, that'll come with another cost.fivepointer wrote:Rowe would do well to STFU i reckon.

Fun fact:
Per Oddschecker, Sarries are joint fifth favourites, with Quins, to win the Prem.

The Times are claiming that the breach was so bad the points deduction could’ve been 70 points but the panel used their discretion to levy 35.

It's amazing how the statements have changed isn't it? From administrative error, to not contesting the fine but claiming this year's team was under the cap, to Eddie Griffiths (of all people!) basically saying that they are cheating this season and are going to have to take some drastic steps.
And I still think they'll win the league

Lord Dyson demanding his report and judgement be put in the public domain.
Bedford have suddenly signed Alex Day, Sarries fourth choice 9, on loan. It seems very much out of the blue and not really a position of need. Might be cap related.

They're going to need to offload a lot of Alex Days to get under the cap that way. And if Dyson wants that I'm suddenly on the side of Sarries take on the report going public

Bedford don't have a salary cap to stick to right? Could be they get a fair few people, and maybe some help paying for them too.

If releasing Clark, Figallo (who was always said to be on a low salary because his neck injury meant he couldn't be insured in France - and why would Sarries lie about salaries?), Rhodes and Williams saves a million quid, I think it's fairly obvious that Sarries are more than a little above the cap

Don’t think so. The Sarries - Bedford link has waned in the last couple of years but the hope is that we may benefit with a few more players. Could do with an IC.Raggs wrote:Bedford don't have a salary cap to stick to right? Could be they get a fair few people, and maybe some help paying for them too.

And of course, because he can't be insured in France, that means none of the other 11 sides in England would want him either.Peej wrote:If releasing Clark, Figallo (who was always said to be on a low salary because his neck injury meant he couldn't be insured in France - and why would Sarries lie about salaries?), Rhodes and Williams saves a million quid, I think it's fairly obvious that Sarries are more than a little above the cap

I believe (can’t be bothered to listen to it myself) Lord Dyson covers the subject in this podcast:
