This game is a tricky bugger. I feel like something in my squad is exposed every week that I can't necessarily solve with one free transfer every week. It keeps it interesting though!

Visser, who I've ditched this week, and Toomua. Useless so far.

Looking at this week, tomorrow could be interesting. Looks quite close and most of the top ten have pretty similar players left to play. Could come down to one players performance to decide who comes out on top. For example, if Nowell does well I'm screwed.

Freddie Burns screwed me over again with another 0. I'm seriously thinking of binning him now!
Then again, 5 of my bench have played and contributed the sum total of 6 points between them (three 0s, one 2 and one 4) and three of those started today!
I'm hoping my 6 starters tomorrow will get me some decent points. I gambled with Collins as captain so I'm hoping he can bag a try or two.

I'm struggling at hooker, Buchanan got zero. Would have been better starting Britz, even though he was on the bench.Scrumhead wrote:Freddie Burns screwed me over again with another 0. I'm seriously thinking of binning him now!

I thought of having a Northampton player as my captain, but bottles it and stayed with Ford.

I have had a good weekend. So far, every decision that I've made with regards to selection has been the most profitable one, including dropping Solomona for Woodward and selecting Ford as my captain. 442 points and still with 3 starters and 3 subs left to play tomorrow, which has taken me up to 14th in the total league and 4th in ours. Way better than I was expecting to do at this game, considering my crappy history of predictions.
Does anyone know who Dr Foster's Gloucesters, Arya Shark, and Neanderthals belong to?

I'm Neanderthals. I regret putting Roko on the bench now, but ah well.
398 points this week, with 6 starters and 3 bench still to go. Some OK decisions from me, but very pleased with Mako as captain.

Because I forgot to change my team on Friday, I've had Kitchener score 0 in my starting xv and Kruis rack up 30 odd not on my bench.

I assume Arya Shark is Sam Shark? No idea on Dr Foster's Gloucesters?
I find this game so damn hard. Every week, I pick my team feeling quietly confident I've nailed it and 24hrs later, I find myself facing the crushing realisation that I know less than Jon Snow.
I have 6 starters and 2 subs featuring in today's games, so my week could get better, but these are similar players to those in the league around me, so I doubt I'll move up the table unless picking Collins as captain turns out to be a masterstroke.

Think I mentioned that through good fortune I happened to end up with exactly the right amount of spare cash to grab Collins, thought he could be a very useful pick.

Re: The Rugby Magazine - Fantasy Rugby
I was trying to work out how Rhodes managed to score 0 until I read that he dropped out before the game.
That's two players each of the last two weeks that have dropped-out when it's too late to for me to replace them!
Rhodes is allegedly going to be out for 12 weeks. I was going to bin Freddie Burns for screwing me over 2 weeks on the trot, but Rhodes has probably secured him a reprieve.
If my team does well today, I'm seriously considering releasing 3 or 4 players and taking the hit on points. Either way, I figure I'm solidly mid-table and some of the non-playing guys in my squad aren't going to help me climb the table.

I'm the bad luck machine. Bought Billy and made him captain because, well, it was Sale. He does pretty well for 30 odd minutes and then crocks himself. Great.
Rest of my picks have been pretty good this week, overall happy, but still lost a lot of ground to the top 4.
Also, Burns must go now for me...but I also may well need to bin Billy after just buying him. Who to replace him with is not an easy decision. I may go for a back instead of a forward.

Whilst I don't want a player to get injured, would you mind picking Care or Youngs before the AIs, just to force Eddies hand into getting a 3rd scrum half.Stom wrote:I'm the bad luck machine. Was Simmonds in your side as well by any chance?Stom wrote:I'm the bad luck machine. Bought Billy and made him captain because, well, it was Sale. He does pretty well for 30 odd minutes and then crocks himself. Great.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm screwed when it comes to back rowers. Have lost Chick, Rhodes and now Simmonds. When you add in losing Falatau and Hughes during the AIs things are looking grim.
I'm fourth at the moment, but feel like to top two or three are pulling away a tad.

Can anyone explain how Alex Waller scores so consistently highly? I just don't understand how he's averaging 48 points per week?

Was A surprise to me too. I think it's a number of factors. He gets through a lot of work, he normally gets to 69mins and one of his four games was against LI and one was that weird one against Sarries.Scrumhead wrote:Can anyone explain how Alex Waller scores so consistently highly? Heinz Vs De Klerk in the next round?
De Klerk more likely to be on the side going forward, but Heinz might really kick a lot, an awful lot

Ruskin getting a start, and Mako on the bench, means it's a first start for Ruskin in my team I reckon. Tough call though, might be worth putting Vickers in there for his game against Irish.

Re: The Rugby Magazine - Fantasy Rugby
I've just taken the scalpel to my squad and cut 3 more players (as well as my free one). I really don't want another week when two or more players drop out after the teams have been announced - Freddie Burns did it to me 2 weeks on the trot and got himself binned as a result.
Most of my starting XV are playing tomorrow, so I'll know early doors whether this is a good or bad week!

Thinking about selling Beaumont this week. No one to replace him, but it frees up cash, and next week I may need to dump someone due to injury. Rarely use him anyway, and he's been a bit crap at lock.
