I haven't told anyone to get a sense of humour as it's not funny. I don't get it no and I refuse to read up on it. Mainly as I don't have the time or the inclination but also, as Rowan shows, you can read as much as you like but it doesn't mean you're correct.
Then there is absolutely no point in continuing this discussion with you, since you have just explicitly stated you have no interest in educating yourself in gender issues, and are adamant about remaining ignorant on the matter.

You might be right. I do remember Roy Hattersley slobbering everywhere though.

Real shame it's no longer on tv.

Sure, iIt's not like the male sexual organ is ever used as a deogatory term or anything.

Perhaps after Brexit the UK could apply to become the 51st state of America . . .

European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker, claims that Brexit negotiations with the EU will be complex and take longer than the allotted two years.

Speaking on the sidelines at the international Munich Security Conference Junker added that Britain does not have the right to forge bilateral trade deals while still a member of the EU.

President of the European Commission Jean Claude Junker says UK can't negotiate its own trade deals while still a member of the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, is due to trigger Article 50 at the end of March to kick-start exit talks with the European Union.

However, Junker did agree with May that the rights of EU citizens living in Britain and British nationals living in the EU will be resolved quickly.

He also replied to London’s offer to be a bridge to Donald Trump, Junker said:“To put it brutally, we don’t need the United Kingdom Government to organise our relations with the US.”

Juncker has revealed that he will not run for a second term and will stand down when his current term ends in November 2019.

This seems easy. Trump is in favour of an EU fallout to make Russia more pre-eminent in Europe and Blair wants the UK to stay in the EU, if you can't see how those tie together you're just not reading news in Turkish it would seem. Some allowance is needed there such one should read Turkish as Gibberish, but still the logic is clear

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding. I had asked Rowan to explain the reasoning behind his suggestion that the UK should apply to become the 51st US state. I thought that post was part of it, possibly not.

So with the lack of any explanation it seems it was just another bit of brainless polemic.

Tongue-in-cheek, Stones. Stop being such a serious idiot. But I'm actually too busy to enter an argument with you about it now anyway.

Ah yes, the old "tongue in cheek" excuse for moronic posting. Crack on fuckwit.

Stop pretending to be insane, Stones. Anyone can see that Britain is America's evil little sidekick as it goes around the world invading and slaughtering. So why not just apply for statehood?

No, it was me making a tongue-and-cheek comment that Stones got all angrified and hostile over, so I treated him with the contempt he deserved.

& how about yourself, Donny? Looks like you're being super constructive here, right?

Want constructive? The expression is tongue-in-cheek.

And pointing out the hypocrisy of sanctimonious keyboard warriors is always constructive.

Ireland wants a special provision in any Brexit deal agreed between the UK and EU to allow Northern Ireland to rejoin the EU should the province be reunited with the Republic.

At a press conference in Brussels, the taoiseach, Enda Kenny, said he wanted the deal should include language that would allow the north to easily return to the union.

He said the provisions that allowed East Germany to join the EU upon the fall of the Berlin wall offered precedent for such a clause.

Kenny said it was important that the terms of the Good Friday agreement, including what might happen if the island of Ireland was united, was part of any deal.

Not a surprise. A bit academic in a way as I can't see any referendum taking place until after brexit occurs.

I wasn't expecting it today but she probably wants to show she is on top of things.

Whether it happens before remains to be seen. Promising EU membership with the Brexit referendum coming u was an issue during the previous ref. The "No camp" will try to deny/minimise this guarantee now.

UK government better soon come up with a plan that suits every Nation in the UK on the short and long term. Labour (and Lib dems) disappearance is certainly not doing the union any good.

its a smart move, throughout the Brexit process she has shown herself to be shrewd and statesman like

Unfortunately, its all a bit of a waste as to actually go independent would be a disaster for Scotland, they aren't nearly ready enough to support it with their civil service

Wouldn't really expect change in that direction when remaining in the Union. As with Brexit there will also be a period of negotiation between the referendum and Independence (if it were to be chosen).
