So the summary so far is, England's set piece is terrible (both scrum & lineout), but with ball in hand, they are ripping the Welsh apart. Wales are making loads of mistakes and gifting us possession. The Welsh captain is in the bin and with play about to resume, there are a nearly 8mins left on the yellow.

Yep, tidy up the set piece should be the key message. Outside of that we look sharp.

That stoppage was really bad for us, we had them on the ropes just before.

Wasted kick by Wales. They had good pressure.

S4C in Welsh, or World Rugby's facebook page

Pretty uncomfortable middle third when our faltering set piece really costs us. Some good tactical kicking helped turn the tide. We had the more penetrating and elusive runners which proved vital. Ibitoye, Randall and Malins very good in the backs. Forwards a bit below par, even Mercer wasnt quite so dominant as he usually is.

We made hard work out of that.
The lights going out killed our momentum when we had Wales massively on the rack and they'd just lost their captain to the sin bin.
Dawe getting yellow carded early in the second half basically meant that we were unable to rebuild any momentum and we just about kept Wales out on a couple of occasions.
Our first choice pack is a lot better than that in the scrum (Street made an obvious difference when he came on) but our lineout needs real work. Mullis looked better than Walker, it that's not saying much. I'd assume that Blamire will return against Australia.
Losing Aspland-Robinson is a big shame. IMO he is one of our best players and as we're already light on wingers, it puts us in a difficult situation. Odogwu has been called up but I wonder if he and Ibitoye are too similar to play in the same side? AKAIK, both prefer to play left wing too. I wonder whether we'd consider a reshuffle with Parton moving to one wing, Malins moving to 15 and Butler coming in at 12?

I considered that, but Malins looked so accomplished at 10 that I'd be loath to move him. Odogwu has played 14 for Sale before and with Wright in the centres, I don't see too much of a problem with two nippy wings. Plus neither of them shirk the physical work, so I'd be comfortable having both.
That lineout may have been the worst I've ever seen, not just in the throwing, but in the calling, lifting, timing, organisation, mauling, everything! Very surprising from a team coached by Deacon who, whatever his other flaws as a player, knew how to run a lineout.

Also can I just say how good the coverage was on S4C. I don't know if they were providing the pictures, but the direction was miles agead of Sky and a step over BT. Plus, having the commentators burbling away in Sindarin was very relaxing - I gained exactly the same quantity of new information as I would've done from Barnes and Morris and didn't grind my teeth once. I don't suppose they're doing any more of the JWC or will they lose interest now that Wales are out?

The pics probably come from Sky NZ, ie specialist rugby union camera operators and producers. Live rugby is all that keeps Sky NZ afloat. (It's not related to U.K. Sky anymore, I believe)
