Think he'd be fine - very good at this for Wasps, including admonishing JPDoyle for coaching the oppo once.

Yeah. They do say that test match is a step above.

I'd rather not load Launch' with more responsibility but I'd probably have asked him 12 months ago if he wanted it.
I didn't think of him frankly- tbh we are light on candidates
Launch is a leader by example type, but I've yet to be convinced he's doing a good enough job for Wasps. He gets a fair amount of criticism for not being in the ref's ear any where near enough. Eddie doesn't seem that arsed about selecting him in any case for him to even be a possibility for the captaincy.
I would be surprised if Launchbury wasn't very much a key part to Jones' long term plans. That said he was overlooked for Mako v France, resulting in Mako's worse game for a while.

Launchbury will play as long as there is a top class lineout option in the backrow. Without that I don’t think Jones trusts him enough as a jumper.

I never said he wasn't, just that Eddie views him as simply being one of his pick and mix to do with as he pleases.

I don't understand this concept of wanting your Skip' to be: 'in the ref's ear'.
Ask questions, ask pertinent questions....... but don't be some sort of pseudo-Cockerill dickmuncher.

Does this mean you support the fatigue explanation Convex?

I think it's definitely a factor, but teams seemed to have worked out where our soft belly is.

Ok.

Keep it pertinent and less of the dickmuncher.

Sorted.

Some people clearly think this is complicated. Which seems odd.

I am not sure, all the Saracens players seem to be operating well below the highest standards they achieved with McCall. I guess that there will be greater clarity after the next two games.
