Are we ever going to see him in a Scotland shirt again? I'm gutted.

Me too. I can hardly remember when he’s strung more than couple of games together for Scotland in the last few years. He’s developed a lot from the luxury giraffe he once was but can’t seem to catch a break.

McInally, yesterday saying he never thought he'd get to captain Scotland, now an injury doubt. Fucking brilliant. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/44305691

He should have been rested anyway IMO.

I wonder what this means for Ford?

Wow. I didn't even clock that. Has Ford really fallen so far? I'd have thought we could do with a couple more solid old-hands out there anyway.

Hopefully you're right and this is a rest rather than a serious lay-off. A strain doesn't sound too serious to me but what do I know.

Ford was fit and selected for Melrose the last 4 or so Edinburgh games with the exception of big cup games when those that earned the run were given the shirts. Cockerill just preferred Cochrane.

So I've no idea what his form/attitude is like but he still has an important role to play in Japan so I hope he gets it right.

I mean I actually really like it. But equally there’s something hilarious about it.

Well balanced side with a lot of attacking options though.

Has Jackson even played at 10 since he left Quins?

That could be a whack-ass pack that’s on the field at 80 minutes though.

Wow. When was the last time we fielded a team with so few caps?

Yes, I could go either way.

Nice to see so many Edinburgh caps. It's been a while.

By the way, where do we expect Luke Hamilton to sign up next season?

That looks a very second string side. The only real disappointment is Jackson at 10 though. Do we really see him as an option there?

It's a bit late in the day for him to be a real contender for the 10 shirt but I wouldn't be surprised to see Toony roll with Horne and Jacko covering 10 at the RWC. It offers a lot of flexibility.

I think Jackson is good.

That is my entry to this debate.

What is the purpose in debate?

I think Jackson is in more for his experience than anything else. Starting Hastings with Lang is a big ask. I think we'll see Hastings and Horne v the USA.

I expect to see most guys be involved in 2 games with only a select few involved in all 3.

Nothing surprising in here at all but a fairly good summary.

I feel very strange being this excited about a Scotland A v Canada game.

Who's up for this?

Obviously we still need to get a result but christ... Canada look like a bunch of amateurs. It wasn't all that long ago that they used to be a competitive side.

They absolutely do not have an answer for our size and power. They're getting blown out of their own rucks.

That's a yellow for me... and Dell's tour may be over as a result.

Not impressed so far. We're not turning the screw for some reason.
