If you haven't watched much of him he's a classy player. Not just some battering ram. He's very quick and nimble for a guy his size. I can't find the disallowed try but this one was classy.

I... don't see what you're seeing there.
Henworks very hard, runs very intelligently, has the usual problems with positioning and over-convidence that most hyped youngsters do, and far, far more subtlety to him already than I recall from Cohen's entire career

Cokanasiga has been good so far.

Rokodoguni is anonymous apart from when he’s scoring tries. Granted some of that is tactical but Cokanasiga seems to want to be involved a lot more.

Seen plenty. I just think that if he can add some bulk he could be very special. It’s the only thing missing from his game.....as much as I hate the gym monkey culture.

I think he is a raw 20 year old that needs another few seasons of top flight experience. I'm not even sure what point you are trying to make.

He’s a bloody good player but probably needs a bit more bulk on what is quite a wiry (relatively speaking) frame for test rugby. I don’t think experience is an issue. He’s a very intelligent, intuitive rugby player. If he could hack it physically, I think he’d be a duck to water at test level.

Weren't they saying he was 18 stone or so…

I'm not sure how heavy you want him to be - but he's heavier than someone like Banahan who's taller than him (if my memory serves me right)

He might not use his bulk brilliantly yet, but I'm not sure he needs more of it

Quite a few beers deep I would imagine, have a good night. Get off RR and enjoy yourself.

That’s what I was asking as I haven’t seen him this season. So he has bulked up. As far as I know, he was nowhere near that last year. Get him in the EPS.

What are you blathering on about. I think he’s a great player who, when I last watched him last season, needed a bit more bulk.
It was a simple question, had he put any bulk on since last season. You’re the one who turned into some poor man’s Question Time, when a simple yes or no would’ve sufficed.
Can’t you go back to predicting the death of English rugby every time a couple of players are injured.

Wiki have him at 16st 7lb as of July 2017, as per the Bath website, and he’s now 18st-ish. Should’ve just done my own research.

Mercer’s diet to put on 1.5 stone over the summer?

Ha. Having re-read the thread and actually watched the clip you posted, you are talking about cokanasiga whilst I am talking about Mercer. Peak RR.

Amazing.

Yes, Mercer could do with a bit more bulk

Cokanasiga is an 18 stone winger who scored when he had no right to do so - at least we now all know why this was quite confusing…

For Me, that just shows why Wallace isn't quite good enough again... Should never have scored.

Haha, classic.

I saw Mercer play in the flesh last season and he’s definitely an odd shape. But I wouldn’t say he looked small, he’s got big legs and arse, a bit of a spare tyre around his middle and skinny chest and arms. He looked comparable in size to other 8’s like Faletau and Nizaam Caar, for eg.

Now we've got that cleared up (and it was confusing!), Mercer was indeed impressive. Very intelligent and skillful player, and he seems to have bulked up over the summer. He now seems heavy enough not to be knocked back by the bigger boys which is gonna give him all the confidence he needs to make a real impact. Dare we think about some gametime in the AIs?

A touch harsh. If he had wrapped his legs, then chances are his feet go in to touch, but the finish was a combination of skill and luck IMO.

The slow motion almost makes it look easier. He was coming in at pace. I don't think wallace bottled it. I thought he was in touch seeing it live.

Yeah, slow motion makes it looks like he hasn't committed to holding on… I wonder if it's more that he gets bumped off…

Either way… Underhill makes that tackle ;)

It looks to me that if Cockers had taken the pass, Wallace has him in touch. The juggle helps keep him more in field. Great bit of skill.

Probably - but then I don’t think anyone is suggesting that Wallace is as good as Underhill.

If Wallace gets a foot, he’s in touch. I still think there was as much luck as there was skill in the actual finish though.

Bath actually looking like the team their talent suggests they could be. Funny how that's happened with Burns at 10, rather than Priestland stinking the place out again.
