Japan will be happy with that half, still very much in touch.

Barnes performance leaving a bit to be desired.

The call was correct. That crabbing shit is let go far too often mid-field, too. Tackling is defined in the Laws as holding the ball carrier and bringing him to ground. You have to hold "until the ball-carrier is on the ground" (i.e. at least one knee on the ground). There is no requirement to hold them once they are on the ground.

Barnes choosing to make own decisions today - possible foul play there by home player.
..good forward call after that tbf.

Feels like SA have got this totally worked out, for all Japan’s passing along the line and little darting runs, they aren’t getting anywhere.

Japan plan A isn't working one bit. SA are closing them down every time.

De Allende has been great today. Best 12 in the game currently? De Toit very good too.

Don't understand the up-and-under strategy from Japan. Feels like they're out of ideas.

Can you be penalised for lifting the man in the air if you are the one with the ball?

Japan out if puff and out of ideas. The rush defense has gotten into their heads and it's not zipping through the hands anymore.
