Unlimited transfers in week 2! That's handy for some.

I'm a bit annoyed as I've got a full 22/23 without the need for any transfers. Am losing an advantageStom wrote:Unlimited transfers in week 2! That's handy for some.

lol. yeah, me too, but I am making 3 subs out because I stupidly picked 2 injured players, so am dropping them.switchskier wrote:I'm a bit annoyed as I've got a full 22/23 without the need for any transfers. Am losing an advantageStom wrote:Unlimited transfers in week 2! That's handy for some.

Same, but I have taken the opportunity to invest and enforce

Same here. I didn’t *need* to make transfers, but took the opportunity to make a few changes. I’d only picked Walker on the basis that Dunn was with England for example.

Re: The Rugby Magazine Fantasy partners with Restart Rugby
I really shouldn’t have said that ...
Lewies and Vui dropping out last minute has forced me to spend my remaining transfer cash. I don’t want to get rid of them because they’re failed fitness tests and hopefully nothing serious so I’ve had to buy two locks I shouldn’t have needed.

Bloody typical. I bought Vui and then he drops out and I didn't know. FFS. I would have just stuck with Dombrandt and Merrick, who at least would have scored 1 point...

I went for van see Merwe and benched Barbeary. I'm beginning to see why I don't do so well in this leagueTigersman wrote:so did anyone not have S.Simmonds as captain this week?

I have Simmonds as captain but benched van derbmerwe to fit in Byrne who bagged a tidy 44 points for a hooker.

Nope, I had Barbeary, who scored a very handy 43 points! Feeling smug about picking the right captain this week.

Let’s wait until the scores are finalised. Some players’ will go up, some will go down.
Other players will score more than Simmonds in most weeks, but he’s one of a handful of players to consistently score 35 or more points. A low risk pick as captain.
After thinking I knew better last week, I’ve revised my opinion.

Actually Akker did better by a single point, somewhat surprisingly. So in the end, that was far from my worse choice of the week! (benching Barbeary and Smith being up there)Scrumhead wrote:Pretty much everyone has Simmonds as captain.

Re: The Rugby Magazine Fantasy partners with Restart Rugby
I had a very average week. A few stellar performances here and there undone by some poor scores from usually reliable players like the du Preez twins and Thorley.
I’m most annoyed that the late drop outs to Lewies and Vui ruining my transfer plans. Having to sign two replacement locks I shouldn’t have needed meant that I had to spend virtually all the money I was keeping in reserve.
I’m hoping I can just sell a couple this week without needing to buy.

That feeling when you start 2 players who have - points and not even picking a player would've been better
Despite that thanks to Marcus Smith getting 52 points for me, Simmonds (C), Wiese, Curry, Barbery, Howe, Dombrandt I managed to get 381 points.

My biggest flop so far has been Luke James. I'm not sure he's in double figures of points for the season yet. At this rate Sam Simmonds could not play another game and probably finish with more at season's end!

Luke James has been poor so far this season, but so have Sale. I expect him to improve as the team does so I’m more inclined to stick than twist ATM (albeit he is on my list of ‘sell’ possibilities for this weekend).

Lucky you, I wasn't around so couldn't replace Vui. First I knew about it was seeing his name absent from the lineup. And I'd signed him this week, ffs! And dropped Isiekwe for him...Who scored a bloody try.Scrumhead wrote:I had a very average week. An average week for too. It saw me drop from 3rd to 8th in our league. Normal service has been resumed and will continue until further notice.

Well the call up for Barbeary and the recall for Thorley isn’t the start to the week I wanted ...

Thorley may well be released back, as will Umaga. Imagine Barbeary will be retained as a non-playing reserve in case George or LCD go down in the training or the warm up.
Eddie is obviously impossible to predict in certain things, but given what he's said so far I would be surprised to see a 6:2 split on the bench.

Selection was fairly kind to me but I have no luck whatsoever with locks ATM!
I have Vui, Lewies, DdP and Donnell out injured and Holmes benched. It’s a dilemma because I don’t want to release good players when I know their injuries are minor and the next couple of weeks will give them a bit of time to recover until the next round of Premiership games.
