LI next week. I might be tempted to roll the dice before asking for a stop the season.

I wonder can we improve with actual training time together?

If we have a good game next week, then we've got the loss against Exeter after that, before Newcastle on Boxing Day with all of our internationals back. Don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but we've set ourselves up for a chance at a decent start to the season.

Still, that's a reasonable sized if. We need to back this up.

We drove Exeter pretty close last season with the penalty count being our undoing. We conceded on 4 penalties today ( I think) whilst Glaws were into double figures. If we can keep that up then we'll be a much tougher team to face. If we can get keep close to Chiefs and get a LBP that will do nicely. Some sort of result from the games Vs Falcons and LI and yes we could have some momentum going into the new year.

I always think momentum is a big thing for a team. Winning is a habit. We saw with lockdown how some teams lost momentum and just couldn't get back to winning (Saints) and some managed to break the cycle and start gaining momentum (Wasps and also sort of Bath). If we can get that habit then we should hopefully stop the second half collapses and even if we do lose start getting those LBPs. Our bonus point collection for the last few years has been pitiful.

I agree with you about momentum and the winning habit. I've been opining for years that our problems are in the top 3 inches and that the Leicester job was the plumbest job in the Premiership for a coach, as the squad was far better than the performances and results would have you think. A coach that could make the side believe they could win could take advantage of a much better side than form suggested.

It goes without saying that one swallow doesn't make a porn star and all this confidence will look pretty foolish if we lose against Irish, but I choose to be hopeful that this is the turning point.

On a side note, does anyone know what's the latest on our injuries? Taufua, Martin, Lavin, Moroni - is Olowofela injured or just out of favour?

I think Owolfela is out of favour. Lavin no idea.

Moroni is supposed to be back mid December with Martin, Lavanini and Taufua early in the new year.

Henry will be tough to keep come next contract extension potentially.
Won't be on much and looking so far like he could really interest some teams.

He's only just joined. I presume he got at least a two year deal so will be here until 2022.

Either way, I agree. Henry has been impressive since joining Tigers. His signing was probably a bit of a roll of the dice, but one that’s worked out well so far.
