This is both true and ignoring of the idea that attractive women in lycra is a boon to mental health, and many attractive women in lycra is better still

Incidentally Parkrun is the biggest participation sport in the country every weekend but who wants the population going out and being healthy for free. Yes that would help their immune system but no they need to be out spending to prove that the Covid response and Brexit weren't an unmitigated disaster.

It’s the local councils that (dis)allow Parkrun and suchlike events. Some have allowed it, others haven’t.

Sorry I'd thought they'd been forced to put back the restart with extension of measures following the new variant but as there seem to be events tomorrow clearly I was wrong.

Councils have long been eying Parkrun with concern. Most of them signed up initially because it meant that most of their community involvement in relation to sports was fulfilled without the council having to do much if anything. Now a lot of the council's are looking for ways to try and coin it, there was one in Bristol that wanted to charge every entrant a quid to join in the other year. Others have tried to enforce car parking restrictions a lot of which were initially agreed to be lowered or exempt for a set time period. They've become very popular and they are free, that's always going to upset somebody.
