There’s lots to moan about him, but scouting your opposition whilst the players have the weekend off does seem an odd one.

Just saw this on the highlights and it was absolutely outrageous. The raw confidence to even attempt that is astonishing and he never looked like missing.Puja wrote:That drop goal, where he took the goal-line drop-out set himself and then just slotted it, was a thing of utter beauty. It was exactly what we needed to take the wind out of Saints' sails and change the story from them riding a comeback wave to us still being up on the scoreboard and in control.

Ford was good in the first half but nothing more, in the second half though he played like a great an astonishing performance. The drop goal, the 50/22 from a calmly taken mark no more than ,10m from his own line. I'm amazed none of the Saints players went after him because he time and time again was a momentum changer. Those box kicks as well, take note scrum halfs!Danno wrote:Just saw this on the highlights and it was absolutely outrageous. Yeah about six minutes into the game I've since realised. I blame it on the cocktail of medicines administered to me by the LRI yesterday effecting my memory.Epaminondas Pules wrote:The 50/22 was in the first half.
I'm glad Eddie wasn't watching live, don't want him recalling George just yet. There's the Bath game to get through first.

I can’t see him doing so unless there is an injury. Which is fabulous for us as George is playing out of his skin.

He certainly is. Ford seems to be thriving in the Borthwick system and seems to be happier each week. It must have been tough for him to try and drag the team to a result each week. Now he just guides the machine round the pitch. His game control this season has been incredible. I think there's more of his attacking game to come but as our attacking game develops he'll be able to showcase more and more.
I think Eddie might bring back Ford for the 6N, I think he might use Ford in the control role he sometimes moves Farrell to 10 for. Farrell can then remain at 12. The weather for the start of the 6N can be pretty rough so the option of reverting to Ford and Farrell if Smith isn't getting much joy with his attacking game.

I'd just like to take another moment to appreciate Muri's finish from the weekend:
Hands off one tackler so hard that he flies backwards and headbutts the second tackler's nuts, giving Kini a free path to the tryline. Nice.

I loved watching Kini when he was at La Rochelle and was delighted when he signed for us. In the Autumn of his career but still got moments of magic up his sleeve. He definitely looked like someone who wanted to remind the coaches he can do a job.Puja wrote:I'd just like to take another moment to appreciate Muri's finish from the weekend:

Looked like he was pissed off by Proctor going high on him, felt the need to send a little reminder with the hand off. Was a cracker of a try that one. He had absolutely no right to score that.
