I can only really see Glos getting 8 points max from the three remaining games frankly. Top 6 will do this season. Top 4 next.
I don't know Tigers will rest too many in the final round - we'll have had a game against Newcastle the week before to rest the important people like Genge, Ford, Wigglesworth, and Steward, and I think Borthwick will want the undefeated home season. Sorry Wasps.Scrumhead wrote:I think Saracens will almost certainly rotate against Worcester this weekend.
We’ll see the side Worcester name for the Prem Cup semi today, but I don’t think they have the depth to rotate as much as they’ll want to unless it is purely an academy side.
Saracens’ squad players are good enough to rack up a win which would allow them to rest their frontline players for the Challenge Cup. Gloucester need every point they can get so won’t be in a position to rotate much (if at all) which makes that a tough game for them sandwiched in between their remaining league fixtures.
I would expect Tigers to rest players on the final round and if Quins’ play off place is assured by then, we may well do so too.
Very much agree. Go hard at home and get momentum and with any luck an undefeated league season at home. Make WR a fortress once again. Newcastle the week before is the ideal game to rotate, keep squad competition high and everyone fresh.Puja wrote:I don't know Tigers will rest too many in the final round - we'll have had a game against Newcastle the week before to rest the important people like Genge, Ford, Wigglesworth, and Steward, and I think Borthwick will want the undefeated home season. I think he arrived with an injury and also had a period out with covid. The minutes he’s had have all been in recent weeks and he’s done well. Made a 40m break that led to a try a couple of games ago.Scrumhead wrote:Indeed. I don’t really expect to see Wasps beat Lyon. However, as you say, it’s really all they have to play for, so they may throw the kitchen sink at it.
O/T but I did notice Joel Kpoku was on the Lyon bench last weekend. I wonder how he’s doing out there? For all he hype he had coming through, he hasn’t amounted to a great deal as yet.
*update - from what I’ve found he’s started twice and had 3 sub appearances for a total of 157mins.
It must have been the compensation point that was new then, Apols.Scrumhead wrote:Yeah, those 5 points have already been added.
Next weekend is a big game for Quins, Gloucester and Saints. They all need wins to be confident of finishing in the top 4. ATM, Quins have the advantage right now, but if we lose to Gloucester I wouldn’t want to go to Sandy Park needing a win on the final day.
Quins vs. Gloucester is being held at Twickenham and is being branded as The Big Summer Kick Off. Good money spinner for us, but I’m hoping the sideshow and not actually being at home doesn’t come back to bite us.fivepointer wrote:I think Glos will lose at Quins and Saints will lose at Saracens. Saints have the big advantage of playing Newcastle at home in the final game. Glos have Saracens at home. They may be helped if Saracens rest a few players.

A lot will depend on how much and when Saracens rotate. It might depend on how they do vs. Toulon.
Not like you're going a distance away from your fanbase though and you do tend to do quite well in the big matches. I'd say it's likely to be a bigger posiive than a negative.Scrumhead wrote:Quins vs. Gloucester is being held at Twickenham and is being branded as The Big Summer Kick Off.
