That scrum was incredible. We’ve been all over the place but yeah, not getting dominated up front so far.
I’m so fucking tense.

Genuine bullshit. Tom Curry must be screaming in frustration right now.

I thought Curry’s was probably a red but I can understand why it might just be given as yellow. There’s no excuse there, that’s a straight a red as you could get.

Shitehouse is a truly awful ref/TMO

Well..... it was good while it lasted.
In a way I can just relax now and enjoy the rugby, so it's fine. *weeps*. It's fine.

SA being very very smart/cute/cynical around the tackle and ruck and it's not being picked up. Fair play, if we were getting away with it I'd be delighted.
For that first try there's was a rather large SA between Jones and the ball carrier. They're hanging around the wrong side just long enough to disrupt but not long enough to get pinged. It's good rugby from them, Rassie Erasmus is a past master at this kind of thing.
Also, we are no longer competitive in the scrum.

Good to see Scott Cummings getting on, he's had it rough the last year or two with injuries.

Gardner is a shite ref but it hasn't changed the result.
We've been "South Africa'd" which is what they do to teams.

Twice we've had clear chances on an overlap and not given it, that needs fixing. I'm all for the wingers backing themselves but not at the expense of using possession intelligently

Yes, and presumably they practice that every day. Just dull.

We've fronted up physically in defence (maul in particular) but in attack we have no go forward. Slow ball and SA are up so quick that we can't get into any patterns.
The lineout issues have contributed to all of the attacking problems. We must have lost at least 4 well into their half and the ones we have won have been scrappy. Sharp lineouts would have been out best chance to get on the front foot. Instead Russell has ended up getting it standing still with as many South Africans as Scots in his passing lanes.

Aim now must be to get to the Ireland game not needing a bonus point win or some stupid points difference turnaround, but that depends mainly on the Ireland South Africa game.

An offside called in the 79th minute. I need to watch it again because the line speed has been barely believable

Make that at least 5 lineouts well into their half. Whatever else we could have done better, we were never going to win with that stat.

This is a good point. SA may be cynical, but to the rule of law it's legal. They've shut down Finn Russell with extreme prejudice. Pretty good coaching TBF.

Was always gonna be tough today, but how do you spend 3 months in training and cough up so much line-out ball.

That absolutely sucked the life out of me. Not much new to say from a Scotland perspective.
Well done South Africa. Incredible (unbelievable almost in terms of line speed) in defence.

A gutsy performance, but not enough to beat the team who are surely the favourites. Rest assured that the majority of neutral supporters will be behind you against Ireland, a match you could well win if you take your opportunities, like the one when Darcy really should have shipped the ball out that second sooner, and it could then have been a different game.

Congrats SA they're the team to beat for me.
We got "South Africa'd" in that game. I mean that as a compliment; big, physical and great depth. Hardest match up of all countries for Scotland.

So annoyingly predictable. Line out was a shambles and scrum (as usual) a lottery, which we always seem to be on the wrong side of. I'm disappointed. Our centres and wings barely barely touched the ball. Darcy fucking pass the ball. Time to numb the pain and fuck work tomorrow.

I mean, outside of 10 mins at the start of the 2nd half, we actually went toe to toe with SA and did ok.
