thats the point, why risk giving them an easy exit?

Second Italy try created by Daly. Flies in gets absolutely nowhere near the ball and leaves half the pitch for a 3 on 1 Vs Steward. What a muppet. He backs off there and doesn't commit he had support coming and there's a chance we only concede metres and not points.

My stream keeps cutting out, came back to see Daly cutting inside and completely missing his man to allow Italy a 3v2 overlap they could exploit for a try.
Someone remind me why he's there?

Looks like I was wrong about Roots, btw, fair play.
I was prejudiced by another "Kiwi" import jumping the queue, but he looks exactly what this England team needs.

well yes, but it wobbled in our half ratherthan theirs after the pen and then they got a try....so silly risk at the time and in hindsight.

On the upside Dallagloi hasn’t mention Farrell yet… but Ford is providing him opportunities to squeeze it in.Epaminondas Pules wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 2:54 pmNever! Not until we have some actual proper coaches in place!

Italy look good with ball in hand - so why do they keep kicking it away to Steward? Poor decision making and a shaky lineout will cost them the game.

yes, but the realignment after a really good kick chase was awful- 6 on 3 plus 1, backing off would have been better tho. The defence is disjointed all round.FKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 2:48 pm Second Italy try created by Daly. Steward is cleaning up at the back. Perhaps Italy will change the kicking tactics to grubbers and chips over the top as England do tend to have Mitchell in the defensive line, Italy might find space.

There is a general lack of cohesion, not helped by half the forwards flying into everything and the other half (notably the props) not wanting to go more than walking speed. Daly has to wear that one for the second try though, he's far to experienced to be doing something like that.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:10 pmyes, but the realignment after a really good kick chase was awful- 6 on 3 plus 1, backing off would have been better tho. box kick and chase has seen us recover it three times, and nail the catcher on the spot every time. The problem has been numbering up after!Epaminondas Pules wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 2:54 pmNever! Not until we have some actual proper coaches in place!

yus, though as said, he was the outside guy on a 6v3, so a lot wrongFKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:12 pmThere is a general lack of cohesion, not helped by half the forwards flying into everything and the other half (notably the props) not wanting to go more than walking speed. 6 on 3 just outside their 22. Give them metres and slow them down whilst your support comes back into play. It's basic back three play, don't commit and try to buy time.Banquo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:14 pmyus, though as said, he was the outside guy on a 6v3, so a lot wrongFKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:12 pmThere is a general lack of cohesion, not helped by half the forwards flying into everything and the other half (notably the props) not wanting to go more than walking speed. Not that I disagree we were to narrow initially.

Why is Wigglesworth an international attack coach? What does he do, other than teach and encourage box kicking?

Nice from Mitchell and some good momentum from the England attack.

well the breakdown was further up, and less narrow, more like outnumbered, but he made the wrong call for sureFKAS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:18 pm6 on 3 just outside their 22.
