Can’t work out if WT has been drinking or got a temperamental keyboard
Was trying to type on my phone, which is the smallest screen I've had in about 15 years.
Meanwhile, my eyes are 15 years older.

Sale Sharks Starting XV:
15. Ollie Davies, 14. Obi Ene, 13. Joe Bedlow, 12. Sam Bedlow, 11. Alex Wills, 10. Tom Curtis ©, 9. Nye Thomas, 8. Rouban Birch, 7. Tristan Woodman, 6. Sam Dugdale, 5. Jonny Hill, 4. Ben Bamber, 3. Jake Bridges, 2. Tadgh McElroy, 1. Si McIntyre
Replacements:
16. Harry Thompson, 17. Tumy Onasanya, 18. Tom Furtado-Mills, 19. Alex Groves, 20. Seb Kelly, 21. Gus Warr, 22. Toby Wilson, 23. Albert Bradshaw.
Hoping to all hopes that he gets the England call for the French game. Coen and Bellamy are not great by any stretch.
As you know EP, I queried how old Davies was in the U20 thread. Just noticed these comments on the Sale website:
https://www.salesharks.com/2025/01/31/o ... ldy-clash/
As always this competition provides a chance to see some of the club’s brightest young talents in action. Ahead of this weekend’s game, Senior Academy Coach Gareth Harris gave us the lowdown on some of the new names to watch:
Ollie Davies
“I can’t wait to see Ollie in a Sharks shirt. Ollie is a fly-half with so much potential. He’s still only 18 but he joined us with a big reputation following the age-grade programme.
“He was unlucky with an injury that he was coming back from at the start of the season but he’s fit now and he’s been able to get a handful of games for Sale FC. He really put his hand up and showed his quality and everyone at the club is really excited to see how he develops over these next few weeks with us and the England U20s.
“Being only 18 there are still plenty of areas for him to work on, but he’s got an all-court game. He’s a big threat with ball in hand and he offers that triple threat – he can run, kick, pass."
Perhaps the coach has got his age wrong. Be nice if he's correct though and Davies can play U20 next year as well
One other query, last Sale game was against Bath on ITV and I thought Ma'asi-White had a decent game at 12 and looked promising. Was he not allowed to play in this Cup match because he's been on loan (or is the official term dual-registration

) at Caldy this season.

I'm 99% certain he's a 2005 birth, otherwise, with Sale's DoB for him he'd still be at school. Only other way would be if they'd got his DoB drastically wrong. He certainly left school last summer, so first year in pro rugby

I know there’s a no porn rule on here but I’m hoping the mods will make an exception for this.

For porn of that quality, absolutely.
That angle showed beautifully the frantic looking around that the loosehead was doing as he ran in, although opinions may differ as to whether that was out of disbelief that a tackler wasn't coming or horror that a tackler wasn't coming and he had to keep running.

How the hell did Dombrandt end up on the losing side today? What a performance! I suppose it will lead to accusations of him being a flat-track bully but he is something special when he punches his full weight.

Exeter went fully loaded at home against a pretty much third string Glaws side and were humbled. Important to note that Glaws’ average squad age was just 22, and all three of the starting backrow were 18. The backrow cover was provided by an 18 year old hooker, the lock cover was also 18 and we had a number of loanees in the squad.

Did all his work in the wide channels though which isn’t going to be a luxury that can be afforded at international level.

That was an eye catching result. Given the line ups you would have expected a pretty comfortable home win.

Bristol - Bath was a bit of damp squib.
Bristol went for a stronger line up than expected but we're mis-firing badly. Barely managed to string 3/4 phases together without throwing to a Bath player, off loading to the floor as far as possible from a Bristol player. Gifted Bath 2 tries and were lucky it wasn't 4. Siva managed to not get injured or sent off so that was a plus and Mata was smashing Bath backwards. Otherwise little to be happy about.
Bath were strong in defence and particularly against the maul. Offered nothing else though and really stopped threatening once Bailey went off (think it was a head knock, didn't appear to be limping or holding anything).
Ref was not great. Appeared to allow Bath to drag the 9 over a ruck and steal the ball, award Bath a scrum on halfway for them putting the ball down in goal and generally not letting the game flow. This wasn't helped by Bath taking a knee for a few minutes, pretty much, everytime the red blew. At one point all the players were heading to a line out (Bristol ball) in the Bath 22 when the Bath 16 dropped to his knees on his way past the bench.
Rubbish match, but Bath will be happier.
