Ha nice try there too. Scared the crap out of my daughter shouting at Jones for not using Johnson, but it was well finished eventually

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

We are playing some good stuff in attack.

They are rank in defence tbf but still it's some nice stuff.

The Italians really need a captain more comfortable in English or French. Poor Bigi evidently wanted to say something there but couldn't get the words out.

Some loopy passing so far but getting away with it with some quick ball and allowing dynamic runners to attack it

Yeah Italy have made everyone look good this year but it's nice to see when it's our turn

Some of the Italian players look like they could be decent if they were in a decent team.

Did they just say 250 games for James Robson? That's some shift.

A few hospital passes going in, we need to show the Italian players more respect

And that is a cracking try from Jones, running from deep, using the width and good support, great stuff

Surely from now on we should just be taking the points from penalties? We have the bp, kicking to the corner just runs the risk of injury or turning it over etc

Case in point. Lost the lineout and gave them a confidence boost.

I mean I get the mentality of wanting to play rugby etc, and I like it and God knows we need the practice, I just think getting the 3 points is a better option at times like that one.

It feels like we’ve been pretty awful, but retaining a bit of possession is enough apparently.

Yes, their defence is a mess after a few good phases. We just need to improve our phases.

Yeah, more accurate timing/passing and we’d have scored several more. We wouldn’t have scored many of those against other sides. Pretty disappointing from Italy.

Passing's been poor (apart from the Mish). But then we've got a blindside at 9.

Yeah passing has been a bit loopy (Maitland isn't quite the playmaking 15 Hogg is) and need to make sure our runners don't get tempted to be selfish. Looking to get to 50 here though.

And no, I wouldn't be taking the 3 points. Just a let off if they are defending in their 22 and giving away penalties (don't mind some extra practise at lineouts either)

Sam Johnson is having a strange game, he seems to be just in the wrong position sometimes. Maybe he's just trying a bit too hard.

Proper flankers finish though
