Interesting people mention about maybe we should bring in a report system, It's a Yellow and gets reported if it is a red card offence he gets a ban, might make more sense for the non malice type incidents. (High balls would be a big one).

I'm also still not against the “Orange” card style system
Yellow card (10 mins down a player) but you have to sub the player who committed the offence off…
Doesn't ruin a game due to a mistake, but makes the players play more carefully for their own games

Like the orange card idea.
I suppose you could fuse it with the report system and review later on to see if the offence merited a ban. The obvious advantage is that a team doesnt lose a player permanently for making a mistake.

Anyway happy enough with the tigers performance having a 6ft10 19 stone lock sent off is always going to affect things like Lineouts and Scrums.
Seems like Murphy has brought back a back bone whilst allowing players to have more freedom, Ford certainly playing back to his best.

Agreed. However, where did Tuilagi go? He played for about 20 minutes when it suited him. His attempted tackle on Basset in the 1st try play was embarrassingly feeble. I wonder about his team-orientated application. It is just disappointing.

TBF the guy is still getting back into things.

He was still there making tackles. Didn’t see too much ball as we didn’t use him. Why do you question his team orientated application?

I just thought he disappeared leading me to wonder why. At his best he seemed to be in the game most of the time. Maybe he is just rusty as Tigersman suggests.

Lineout cost us that. Even when we were winning with Williams just after half time, the lift looked like a rusty forklift going up and down, and some of the calls were baffling. Why did we decide to see if Youngs could throw over Gaskell at 2 and bring it back down to hit a man going up at 3? It's not like Gaskell's 8ft tall and 3st in weight and is a lineout specialist or anything. You'd need to be Federer to get that much drop on a lob.
Good heart and generally pleasing performance after the first 20 though. Manu looked a liability in defence - stepping in, stepping out, picking the wrong man and occasionally just plain missing the tackle. Do we have a specialist defence coach in place yet?

Gotta say Leics did a bloody good job of negating Wasps' one man advantage. I forgot it was 15 v 14 for a lot of the second half. You defo put the wind up us. I suppose part of it is that it's the Wasps way currently too.

Err. Wrong thread I think.
{Mod} Good point - have shifted to the high tackle thread so we can keep the arguments in one place. {/Mod}

I'm getting increasingly vexed at the attitude of many drivers that use of indicators is now optional
