Well played Joseph and Cowan-Dickie... showing Slade and Daly how to execute a 2 on 1.

Yes. This exactly. The little chip over the top in our own 22 was an odd choice. Joseph has looked good, I'd like to see him and Tuilagi start in the centres.

FT Eng 35 - 3 Ton
Minimum targets achieved.
Areas to improve ?...big list for EJ & crew.
Arg & Fra will think they've got every chance.

14 handling errors, 8 penalties conceded? Poor kicking. Are we under-prepared or can we hope to peak in the later stages?

Bizarre end - Tonga knock on, we knock on, Itoje kicks it from an offside position and the end result is a penalty against us? Weird.
I'm going to notch that up to first game nerves and not liking playing under a closed roof and try to move on. The sheer quantity of cloghands on display killed the game and stopped us from ever getting any momentum. Hopefully we've be able to catch the ball next game.

Woeful performance, but the 5 points we needed.

Fuck it. Bonus point win. That’s what we needed. That’s what we got
Good refereeing in general

I also don’t think this is about lack of preparation or peaking at the right time. This was just underperforming on the day. For me, that falls on the players.

Decent start. Got the BP and only conceded 3 points.
Very sloppy at times though. Far too many handling errors and discipline needs a bit of work, but maximum points

Manu took the game by the scruff of the neck as a senior player.
Slade looks like he's gonna break down.
Watson looked good.
Genge was old-fashioned stuffed in the front row.
Rolling driving maul looks to have been coached much better.
Underhill and Curry put in good shifts.
Cow and Chicken can't stop scoring.

The only times Genge wasn't having his head shoved up his own arse hole, or at least between his ankles, was when he illegally got under the tight heads armpit and illegally drove across.
Good old fashioned front row speak.

I certainly agree that Slade looked to be on one and a half legs. It makes me wonder if he is fit enough to be in Japan at all.
