Has Farrell overtaken Ford in the spiral-kicking contest? Funny how important some press pundits were saying that would be and now Jones has not even picked Ford.

You say that, but I think if the situation came up, Eddie would pick Curry. I don't necessarily know I'd disagree with him either - while his first few games showed striking inexperience in the role, his performances last year as one of England's big carriers has started to convince me that Eddie might've had a point.

You're probably right. I'd be happy with either, but Wilson has done a solid job there for us on a few occasions before

Yeah I thought "spiral bomb" was going to be this years most irritating buzz word. Has it already gone out of fashion?

Let's hope so. Maybe the practice time allotted to it could be diverted to running/passing or something equally old-fashioned?

We surely won’t have a bum clencher like two years ago! If England doesn’t win by at least 20, I’m a Dutchman! (even with whatsisname at 10!)

Why? We've got Farrell at 10, a newbie at 12, a guy who's not good enough at fullback. Relative newcomers at loosehead and tighthead too.

I'm vaguely confident of a win, but a 20+ point win sounds unlikely against Scotland at the best of times.

I’m not buying that.

I think with all this talk on the build up Russell is due an absolute howler anyway.

I can’t believe someone at the BBC gets paid for writing this stuff.

“On Saturday, much will centre on Russell and Farrell.

The entertainer against the terminator. The mischief-maker against the commander-in-chief. The game-breaker against the results-grinder.”

No "the hot-blood against the ice-man"? :o

Thank heavens for small mercies, I guess

Thought Eddie Butler’s comment about their being no role models in rugby and had the game not existed some of these players would be in prison as their alternative occupation was interesting on many levels

What wouldn't you give for a scrum half at even 75% of Dupont's level? Then they put Serin on as a sub. It's really not fair.

I've liked Varney, too. I hope England are noting how Italy have broken the French defensive line.

Anyone else becoming exponentially more nervous about France? Italy are as shunt as I've seen them, but still...

After their 3rd team almost did for England I was always concerned. Thrashing an Italian team who lack a defence doesn't change that much. One would hope the French play will look less effortless now the others have analysed them.

Powerful pack, top class half backs, direct runners outside them. They look very dangerous.

I can't see us doing anything other than booting it long, hoping to suffocate them and take advantage of any discipline slips.

People won’t like this but SCW is right about England need to play quicker, question is (May aside) can they?

I'll be honest, if Penaud continues to be on the bench, I'm a lot happier.

The players are capable of it. It's more a question of if they're told they can do it, or are just instructed to grind.

Also why is May the only one who can play quickly? Is there a new idea only fast players can play quickly?

btw, Johnny Hill briefly had an OK haircut...what happened? Do all Exeter players drink from the inbred fountain or something? They're like cold Australians...
