Hill's selection for the lions was more surprising than his being dropped after three stinkers. Hopefully, he rises to the occasion and show's he can bring it at international level...

Bit between the two, I don't think he had stinkers so much as got a bit carried/compensated for others lack of urgency at the ruck. I actually thought he nearly looked the part, stupid clearouts aside.

We've already gone onto, "Hey, you know this player you mentioned? What would you say to the suggestion that him playing badly was entirely Eddie Jones's fault?" so we may as well toss Farrell into the mix.

You say saved, but is there necessarily a distinction between pulling Farrell off and tossing Farrell off?

I think the former is the more steady hand workmanlike approach while the latter leaves some opportunity for improvisation and flair
