Be odd to bring him straight in if he's not qualified or likely to be qualified. Wales included Dombrandt as they knew by the time he'd finished his degree he'd qualify on residency.

LI have him listed as a lock on their website. Going to be some height with that England pack as Ilione at 8 is a regular lineout jumper and has played a little bit at lock before. Knight could be the short one of the back five at 6ft3. The rolling maul might be considered the go to weapon on the night. If confidence is short after the Italy result then back to basics and set piece dominance should be the target.

Is this true? Going to uni in a country doesn’t automatically count towards residency. The player’s permanent or primary home must be in that country, which I’d guess would only be small minority of uni students living away from their parents.

Given the Cardiff Uni approach to rugby I wouldn't be surprised if their players weren't at campus more much more than the academic calendar.

Most university students are able to opt for vote in their newly adopted academic location so I assumed they'd be able to claim that as at least dual residence. Hence eligibility or Wales being confident enough to stake a claim for eligibility.

Where a student votes has nothing to do with where their permanent or primary residence is. They can just simply choose which constituency to vote in between their term time address and parents/home address. Do we know for sure that Dombrandt’s primary or permanent residence was in Wales?

Personally, I'm disappointed, Bath have more Welsh representation than English :(

It's somewhat of a moot point now he's been capped by England.

Well you're not that far from the border...

I know. You just stated that Wales played him at u20 because he’d be eligible by the end of uni and I just wanted to know whether that is definitely the case.

I assumed it was but might be wrong.

I'd struggle to see why they'd bother otherwise. Build up a player for England. Mind you England did with Moriarty and Redpath.

I'll discipline killing England. Ilione has saved us twice with turnovers. Finn Baxter pinged for two dumb ones, the second of which could have been a card. England number 7 also culpable for a poor penalty and not marking his side of the ruck properly for the Wales try.

Holy Shiite! Cleaves decided to have a go...

Well there's a red card for sure. And preferably an HIA for the Ilione (sp?).

Cleaves has got a really nice balance to his running.

Red card all day. Alex Mann was looking for a big shot on his opposite number and gets it all wrong. Hopefully Ilione is ok and passes his HIA he's been England's best forward by a distance so far.

Centre partnership has a nice balance to it for England. I'd like to see them get more ball in hand.

Arundell doesn't seem to love going for those high balls.

England have a really odd defensive structure where there's nobody other Arundell in the backfield. Wales are finding grass to easy on those kicks.

Wales looking a bit underpowered without their 8th forward.

Chandler Smith by the way appears to have an English mother.

Jeez, Ilione steps the fullback and leaves him diving at air there. A big man shouldn't have footwork like that.

Finn Baxter been a bit disappointing last couple of weeks given his reputation.

He's looked good in the scrum but otherwise very meh. There's been props before that didn't look good at under 20s level but flourished at senior level because their set piece work was good and they could build off that. Got to say I expected more from him tonight.

England's back three don't seem to be comfortable under the high ball. Arundell was gifted that take from the Edwards box kick, poor drop.

Stolen lineout, think that just about completes the collection for Ilione.

Ilione definitely the star turn. He's some athlete. Knight had his best game so far and I thought the hooker looked very lively.
Odd that Cleaves wasnt even in the original squad. He looked sharp and i liked the work of both starting centres.

Cleaves and Cusick (13) both missed out and looked good.
Asks questions about who is doing selections IMO

Toby Knight at 7 had a pretty awful first 15 mins bit improved after that.

England have definitely shuffled the pack a bit. Tigers had four in the squad tonight but only Ilione in the original 32 man squad. Is it an open audition for the JWC or have the selectors decided that the original selections just weren't offering enough.

No JWC this year I think. Next one is 2023.
