Well, we have Bon O'Keefe for this match. Angus Gardner takes control of the first semi.
Jackal away fellas, jackal away
That is actually a good ref for us. With a gameplan based around not having the ball and a back row who do like a jackal, having unmanaged chaos at the breakdowns could play to our advantage.

didn't work so well for France. Who are pretty decent at the breakdown themselves

France made the mistake of trying to play rugby as well, which is not a trap that we're going to fall into.

Has anybody told him about the 'hands on the ground first' thing that other refs are applying?

Personally I think chaos at the breakdown isn't so great for us tbh.

I mean, let's be fair, I think we're screwed every which way. There's no aspect in which we equal or surpass them, so there's no real angle that we can point to and say, "That'd swing the game". Our best hope is an early red card for Etzebeth, us playing at our best, them playing crap, and us getting a few lucky bounces of the ball and fortunate refereeing decisions.

I don’t even know if a red card would really be hat helpful. I genuinely think they could still beat us pretty comfortably with 14.
I’m a being realist - I just think there is a very big gap between the two sides.

I suppose you could argue that pumping Smith full of versatility enables SB to go for a 6:2 split - Smith plus a SH. That pre-supposes that the backs are mainly (only) on the bench for injury cover.

To hell with this negatively. Looking ahead do you see us targeting the AB’s line out and exploiting Beauden’s want to run the ball back?
I see 3 further drop goals again breaking the hearts of the malbec loving South American's. Pfft to old shoehorn Beaudie and his bros.

Oops. Yes, that was presumptuous of me to assume it would Bea, Jord and the one no one remembers facing us.

Following the referee review post the QF I expect him to be a lot hotter on the breakdown.
