Looking forward to this game tonight
We have decent combinations for a change in the U20s
Morse & De La Rua - 6/8
Green/Thomas at second row - at Quins and Leicester respectively
Ackerman / Hennessy - 12/13
And a couple of absolute monsters (for Wales) at Props (I know size isnt everything but Wales rarely produce "units" like this)
Id like to see us at least be competitive
The loosehead played for England U18 a few years ago. From Essex and was previously in the Saracens academy. Qualifies for Wales through a Grandmother from Pontypool.

1, 7 and 15 were a bit special. Pollock got MoM. I'd have given it to Jones.

Decent showing, would've liked to have seen more guile towards but hammering the Welsh was working I guess.

How we only got 6 pens at scrum time is beyond me! The technique across a the front row was superb! Body positions of both AOF and Sela were fabulous!
Other than that a scrappy old affair. Never really too troubled for any periods. The odd moment from Wales.
We were a bit sloppy but conditions were not great. You could tell by McParland pulling his passes to be more empathetic to the receiver! The backline was ideal for dry conditions!
Redshaw again just looks so good. All the tiny little things that just seem to come with such ease to him.
Jones was very good at the back, Wills decent too.
The pack as a whole were good.

Ireland scraped home against Italy 23 v 22 in a proper ding dong, whilst France beat Scotland away 14 v 29!

Italy are really getting a good pathway together. They'll get to a quarter final next RWC.

Imagine if they get to a semi before Ireland

Pollock was again outstanding. Difficult not to get excited about this lad. He is some talent.
Thought the whole pack were excellent. The backs less so. Some of the running and passing just seems a bit out of kilter to me. Real pity not to see both wingers get into the game more.

The fullback was very good, though. The scrum half looked gassed quite early, but has something about him too.

Few changes. Different locks, Fasogbon back on the bench, Kerr returns and Bellamy starts.

Sure do! And a raft of hookers coming through especially in the next lot. Loose head is not too shabby either. Some players starting to make waves in the prem having taken time to grow (in every way) post leaving school.
One thing that really stands out in the more recent grads and those coming through is their technique. Quite astoundingly good. Lads like Sela who have ironing board flat backs. It’s something that’s impressed me with Haffar. Hi might go backwards at times (as you’d expect with his age and experience) but maintains his shape really well.
Lock prospects are mighty fine too in current grads and next pups. Backrow prospects non too shabby either. Maybe No8 a bit weaker.
We’re going to have a hell of a pack in a few years time!

Give the state of our scrum half stocks at senior level we could do with McParland coming good and ideally being pressured by a few others.

Bellamy a late withdrawal so Taylor is in at flyhalf.

Bonus point win in very miserable conditions. Took foot off the gas late on. Forwards really put a shift in!

Job done. Forwards were very good. Still feel there's a lot more to come from this group.

Some of the interplay in the backs was painful. Failed strike moves galore.
The forwards generally did well but we're a bit sloppy clearing some breakdowns, the Scottish openside gave Pollock a bit of a lesson at the breakdown (particularly in the second half).
