He has been awful. The back row selection this RWC has been a disaster.Big D wrote:Provisional numbers have Thomson missing 4 out of 9 tackles. Nowhere near good enough.

In hindsight having seen some of the back row performances I'd have been thankful for Harley.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:He has been awful. The back row selection this RWC has been a disaster.Big D wrote:Provisional numbers have Thomson missing 4 out of 9 tackles. Nowhere near good enough.

Finn has to come up - but the vision from the centre there to kick that the moment he does is brilliant

No point dying wondering. Get the bench emptied at half time.

22 fucking missed tackles. Utter shambles.
They've been good and are good but not buying they're as good as we are making them look.

Scintillating first half effort from Japan. I’d wonder about their ability to maintain this pace, but it was the second half where they really schooled Ireland.
Japan has really relied on a core of top players through the tournament - they haven’t rotated the squad much. Their top guys have played a lot of minutes. It’ll catch up to them eventually.

That's Townsend's Scotland though. He has to walk after this surely.Big D wrote:22 fucking missed tackles. Utter shambles.

Japan will be hunting the TBP in the second half. That's all they need isn't it?

The cross field kick appears to be the only thing which Scotland may get any joy from.

Jesus Christ. I’m not sure I can handle another 40 of that.
Two Russell “knock ons” could have been 2 Scotland tries, but whatever.

No, if they get one we need to too though (and win by 8)hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Japan will be hunting the TBP in the second half. That's all they need isn't it?

Re: Scotland World Cup campaign
They only need 2 points, so a loss with 2 bonus points (i.e. 4 tries and a >7 margin) or a draw would get them through.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Japan will be hunting the TBP in the second half. That's all they need isn't it?
If they end up on equal points with the Irish, Japan top the pool anyway, since Japan beat them.

Yeah, although wouldn't be surprised if Japan take away that option second halfbruce wrote:The cross field kick appears to be the only thing which Scotland may get any joy from.
This has been outstanding from Japan. Like Ireland in their ability to keep the ball but quicker with so much more accuracy.
Our front five (apart from Gray and Brown) look knackered

Yep. Changes soon? Cummings? Wilson? Is Dell going to get anywhere with this red?
